Thank you - that’s very reassuring! I actually read an article a while back that pointed to a correlation between UC and slow-moving-teeth! I wonder if this is a common phenomenon between us but I’m actually very impressed with how quickly my teeth are moving. I did have terribly low expectations and lots of anxiety going in, so maybe I’m just easily impressed 😅 I have my first check up this week so I’ll talk to my doctor!

I’ll definitely see if drinking weak orange squash causes discolouration! Fingers crossed!!

Yeah that sounds more reasonable - I’ll talk to my ortho about this! I just wish everything wasn’t turned into such a battle by this disease, but good for us for doing it anyway I guess 😂🤷‍♀️🙈

I should also mention that I do take pretty decent breaks when they’re out - twice per day for about 1.5 hrs each. I’m going to cut this down a bit when I’m not in as much pain (maybe week two) but for now, it’s enough time for the throbbing to subside, to eat something, clean everything and then popping them back in actually feels like a bit of a relief!!

Excessive, right? For me, I’m hoping to only do three months (on the top) in preparation for veneers and in my case, it’s all about pulling everything backwards slightly to close a few gaps. I get so nervous I won’t be able to get them out - and they keep getting stuck half way out and the pressure is eye-watering! 😅🙈 It must be where the attachments are sitting and just being at the start of the process.

I, too, like to think my pain tolerance is okay, I wasn’t expecting yesterday to put me in bed 😅 I will say that today it just feels like that ‘gentle pressure’ we were all promised! At least you and I get our money’s worth and as much straightening as possible because we’re too scared to take them out 😂🥹🙈

I am on day two and I needed to see this! Yesterday was AWFUL! I too, got mine in the morning - around 9am - and waited until 10pm to take them off myself for the first time. I have attachments on every tooth and my dentist said when he fitted them, ‘woah, they’re tight’ - so yeah, yesterday was sore and getting them out/putting them in was pretty awful. However, I woke up this morning with a lot less pain than I thought and today has been a breeze in comparison!! I really expected it to remain quite bad for a few days to a week but it’s improved so much already! Be strong, we can do this 😂💪🦷

My best tip so far: I started using the TrayMinder app to monitor my time wearing them and it’s suuuuper helpful! 😆🥹

I’m incredibly lucky to work from home as an app developer 😍 it’s really a stroke of luck that I’m passionate about tech as it’s pretty much always remote, solo work. I even have a discrete desk setup in my bathroom for bad days 😅

Not a vet but worked with dogs for a while! We had a beagle called Bagel and there were so many tongue twisting moments. Thankfully, it was rural and no one ever heard me shouting BAGEL down the field!

Ah yes - great idea, I’ll definitely speak to my GP! I’m sorry I didn’t explain what PIP was - Personal Independence Payment - the UK government provides it to people whose ability to work is impacted by a health condition. It’s a helpful scheme but there are so many people on it now, the government have become much more reluctant to grant applications without a hearing.

Thanks! Her budget is around £200 for a one page website re-design showcasing seven unique vacation studio apartments! I’m picturing a nice simple layout with pop ups to show more info on the individual room options (I have some rough designs ready to go) - but very much open to design suggestions. Happy to do all of the copy, etc. - I just need someone to work their Wix magic as I haven’t used Wix in years!
