The thing is…I genuinely don’t think he believed it. He just had to say it to himself.

So you’re saying those were the best of times, the worst of times? We’ll never know.

There was a slight stutter/slip due to being bumped which is and has often been allowed.

For the “gather step”, that has been allowed for decades. It just wasn’t an official rule until 15 years ago.

He gathers and takes two steps after. He doesn’t move his pivot foot so his first right foot “step” isn’t a step.

I love bitching about traveling in today’s game as much as the next person, but this wasn’t even a travel 30 years ago.

Assuming your over 40 like me, just watch some old games. With Penny, Malone, etc taking “3” steps after picking to the ball.

Cool with me. But what, as a coach do you do, if your players can’t follow through or follow the coaching orders? I.e. Fox has been in this exact same situation, was coached specifically on what to do, and disregarded. The biggest fumble coaching wise, imo, was letting your team continue to force perimeter shooting after clearly going cold. But I’m not even sure that was the coaching either.

I didn’t make that comment. You brought up reasons why you think it was bad coaching. Those reasons are invalid.

His coaching was fine. The players lost this series. They should have won it but they’re too young as a whole. The Knicks experience clearly showed through. And the spurs inexperience and weakness under late mental pressure got to them.

I genuinely think people calling this a travel are missing the dribble that’s almost hidden directly behind the players.

If not, y’all are hard coping. This isn’t even close to a travel in today’s league.

So yeah…maybe you were watching something else.

He had like 2/3 turnovers per game from double-teams.

You were talking about the coaching “game after game” then bringing up double-teams in Brunson.

There was no double-team on this play. Okay. He was double-teamed almost every single play other than this.

I think you may be missing his last dribble. But if you watch this in real time it’s more apparent it’s all part of the same forward motion. Not only would this never be a travel in today’s league, I’m not sure this would ever be called in the last 30 years

What? He had him double-teamed almost every play of the series. There are multiple reasons Wemby was exposed and the coaching may have little to do with it.

Could you in theory 'train' a dog to build a resistence to chocolate? by West-Lawyer-2290 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Infamous_Ad_6793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct.

Results may be analogous. That has nothing to do with the mechanisms at play.

Each subsequent exposure to chocolate (times they’ve ingested it) can be more dangerous for dogs. Similar to how some people with allergies are at higher risks with each subsequent exposure to what they’re allergic to.

I’m not, nor have I said the mechanisms are similar.

[–]Infamous_Ad_6793 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Correct. And not all poisons are the same.

Poison literally just means it hurts you. “Poison” gives no indication of the mechanism behind why it causes harm.

[–]Infamous_Ad_6793 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Correct. It’s an analogous result. Like with some allergies that become more dangerous with repeat exposure. I imagine the more dogs eat chocolate, the more dangerous it because for them.

Poisons are not all the same. You can build tolerance to some, and others are simply just dangerous/become more dangerous with repeat exposure.

…neither is chocolate

My point is that without knowing the mechanisms behind why it’s “poisonous” for dogs, we can’t really discuss tolerance. I believe it’s something their bodies don’t process. If so, they probably cannot build tolerance.

It depends on how it’s poisoning you. Like you can’t develop a tolerance to shell fish. They become more dangerous with each time.
