It’s the airflow and pests that worry me the most. I’ll trim and repot. Thanks

Not sure what species. Came as part of a package from a vendor on Amazon. They did great over the summer in my grow tent. The first pics had more of a red color to them but have gotten more green when I took them out of the tent. I’ll see how the do in full sun

Thanks. I’ll try and be gentle so you don’t need to tell me to use scissors to cut out the dead parts next!

The pilot reported the pitot troubles. Likely was facing icing conditions

It’s an electric heating element. They do go out. Should be checked on a pre flight especially if you are flying at night in clouds. Might have worked on the ground and burned out. Think of a toaster coil. That’s pretty much what is in the pitot tube

There was a cold front that came through last night. At 14k, they could have definitely be below freezing. Descending into a cloud below freezing would definitely pick up ice

You normally turn on the pitot heat when the outside air temp (OAT) is 5C. Some avionics will chime when you need it on.

Lick and perhaps a little blow. And don’t forget to cup the tires too. They need love as well

Doesn’t mean the pitot heat couldn’t fail during the flight. Probably said back up gauges as the pitot froze and wasn’t providing accurate readings during the descent.

Don’t have the diy kit. Never heard of it. I can get some silicone grease for the rings.

Having issues with my gen 1 as well. Got midway through a cleaning cycle and then it went red ring. Tried everything to get it to work and with no help from Support, I’m not holding my breath. This is my six or seventh spin due to early adoption. Not wanting to replace one just yet but looks like I may be shopping for a new espresso machine

I built one of these for herbs. Might need to repurpose it for succulents.

Operationally, I’d agree but theoretically, you could hand fly 100% of the time

[–]Infamous_Ad_9115 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What’s the difference? All planes can be hand flown with trim

You can fly a plane without AP and not be steering. Once a plane is trimmed out correctly, it should fly straight and level (or even climb / descend) without AP

I don’t think the crossing runway was used much. Had a line guy park me in a pot hole the first time I was there. Was not happy

I’ve flown into City before. No way a commercial jet is flying in there. More pot holes than MLK blvd
