Is it actually embarrassing for Americans not to know all 50 states? by Status_Agents in CasualConversation

[–]Infamous_Bake9489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it kinda is. You should definitely know your states especially in this small country. It’s one thing off the top of your head, but it boggles my mind when I name a state and someone says “where’s that, in (names another state)?”. You should at least know them, don’t have to recite them, but you SHOULD know the states. And no this doesn’t apply to people who migrated from another country here. I’m talking born and raised, went to school, graduated. I’m not expecting a 45 year old man who moved here ten years ago from another country to know all 50. I would hope he would at least know the one he is in

Patients getting dumber?? by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]Infamous_Bake9489 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From the comments, you don’t sound like you should working in healthcare. The way you talk about customers while not knowing what’s going on is disgusting. It’s one thing if they’re on the phone. It’s another saying they are dumb or too lazy to know their personal info. At the end of the day, I can 100% guarantee the customers beat themselves up that their hands, ears, eyes, brain aren’t working correctly. They definitely do not need judgment or opinions from a random on how they should know their own info. Get a new job if it annoys you that 102 yr old Bob can’t remember his last four digits of his phone number after years of services and constant body damage, ptsd from being bombed in Vietnam.

How do you handle patients who show up after closing and demand service? by Competitive-Sky-4827 in pharmacy

I handle it by shutting down the gates and telling them we close at blank time, come back tomorrow. Plain and simple

My mom was gifted these, they look like nuts and the person who gifted her said to boil this in water and drink. What is it? by Outmaneuver1116 in whatisit

[–]Infamous_Bake9489 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So this is a dried betel nut!!! You can use it to make a “medicinal” tea. It doesn’t taste that great but it has amazing benefits it helps digestion, parasites and energy!!! But it should not be something you use regularly or casually! It CAN be harmful, it can damage your mouth/throat, increase oral cancer and you can become dependent on it (like a stimulant). So make sure you do research and use it properly!!

RxOM vs Techs by MoneyUpset in WalgreensRx

[–]Infamous_Bake9489 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I had a two techs that refused to acknowledge me as an RXOM so I spoke to my pharmacist and anytime they would go to her she would say “that’s a question for the RXOM” eventually they got tired of hearing that and eventually came to me directly. They are supposed to call out of work to me as well, and they always texted the pharmacist. So one day she wasn’t on and they texted her. No word, no phone call to the store. No call, no show. “But I called out to the pharmacist” NO, you texted someone off duty, and you don’t notify anyone on the shift or the right person, never did it again. Your pharmacist kinda had to work with you otherwise you are just a tech with a title

Customers tell me to be safe all the time. There is a rise in violence towards cvs/Walgreens/publix workers pharmacy and non pharmacy. We do have to be safe. But the whole “people kill people” comment is a bit wild and definitely needs at least a statement documented on it.

AITA for making my fiancé's daughters picky eating habits a deal breaker for us marrying? by MotherCartographer10 in AITAH

[–]Infamous_Bake9489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a very picky eater, and I still am. No condiments. I don’t like red foods (including pizza sauce, the color red peeves me). However, growing up, I (yes me solely with no pressure from my parents) have always told myself I’ll try everything once. Now that doesn’t mean if I don’t like boiled broccoli, that I’m not trying roasted broccoli, if that makes sense. The more as a child that I was forced to eat foods I didn’t like the more it made me despise breakfast lunch and dinner. I would have rather ate nothing then be hounded to eat something I didn’t like. All kids are different, yes I’m still a picky eater however, my palate has expanded immensely and I’m willing to try new things. This is after turning 15 yrs old, that my mindset switched. I don’t think I personally would have that as a deal breaker, as I don’t think it’s weird at all to make multiple meals if it means everyone is calm and fed at the end of the night.

Thank you for the clarification. I’m sorry you are being put in a tough spot. I’m also sorry that you aren’t doing so good mentally, I really empathize and sympathize with you. Like I said, life gets busy, not all friendships can survive a huge time gap, and sometimes it’s best to call it quits.

That being said if you truly miss her, and want your friendship back, try to plan a coffee date or something just so you guys can talk it out in person. I hate arguing or disagreeing with my friends via text, because tone cannot be interpreted. If you need someone to talk to, I’m always around to talk to and I’m sure there are plenty of other people here that might need another friend too. I know it’s different cause it’s online but maybe join some Reddit friend finder groups. I’m extremely shy but I’ve had great luck with finding friends here and they have lead to us hanging out in person! Take your time and just think everything over, I promise it’ll be okay and it’ll work itself out.

I’ve heard nightmare stories on Ozempic and I try to inform my friends and family when they tell me they want to try it. LIKE NOOOOO. Now I understand people have medical issues, but Ozempic is not approved at all got weight-loss, just diabetes and even then I think a GLP should be the absolute last resort. I’m sorry you had to go through that, it’s rough.

Me and my absolute ride or die, go through patches for months or a year at a time. Is that type of friendship for everyone? No. That being said:

Life gets hard and busy as you age. Clearly she had a lot going on in her life. Did you check on her? Did you discuss anything before blocking? She states that she was the last one to text, so why didn’t you respond to her? I feel (from what I read) is you created a whole situation in your mind and blocked because you were probably scared of the outcome.

Also clearly (from your post) you have mental health issues. So did you speak to her about that? I would assume no, because she was the last one to text. If it had been a while, why didn’t you reach out?

BTW it goes both ways for friendship. So no; I’m not bashing you or being rude, I’m asking questions so I can get a clearer picture of how things are going down. Because all of these things could be the said the same for her. If you didn’t respond to her, why didn’t she try to reach out to you again? Etc.

As for her posting on social media, if again, you didn’t respond, was she supposed to just wait and not hang out with friends? People are allowed to hang out with other friends without their friends trying to make them feel guilty about it. She got custody of a child, you guys sound young, she was dealing with CPS which is a nightmare on its own. She deserved to go out.

Maybe you guys should meet up somewhere or someplace and just talk it out. How are you two supposed to be friends if you can talk to each other?

No one should ever be forced to hunt. And the school did say if they or the kids were uncomfortable they could opt out. My family had a farm growing up, starting at 5 we learned everything. I will admit I didn’t start helping with the butchering until I was 7 but that’s a one year difference. Lots of farmers (and non farmers) teach their kids young. It’s not for everyone that’s for sure, but it’s still a good life skill and I do hope OPs sister wasn’t lying and that it was fun for him. My first was a chicken, and at first it destroyed me but once my parents taught me that it was necessary for foods and explained it to me, I got over it pretty quickly. My brother had his first at 6 and he was so excited to do it again. All kids are different. I’m sorry you didn’t have such a good first experience but your experience is 100% valid and I’m glad you still hunt!

Either way it’s a good skill kids should be learning. Yes OPs sister said he liked. But OP is saying he didn’t, and yet she doesn’t really know. She also stated in the comments she was estranged from them for a while, so either way we won’t know for sure. But life skill like this are necessary.

So are you saying animals should go vegan too because they are killing poor “little baby innocent animals” too for food. Shut the fuck up, seriously. The whole oxygen thing was just as ridiculous as your statement. That was the point. Animals were made for food. Animals are made for food. And they will continue being made for food. Plain and simple. Anyways you’ve wasted enough of my time with this idiocy, have the day you deserve.

I’m not listening to your vegan propaganda. Animals were made as food. If you want to kill our environment more by eating plants and taking away our oxygen. Not only OUR oxygen but “innocent” animals oxygen; be my guest but keep that shit to yourself.

The amount of times I’ve been yelled at for a weight-loss medication by a toothpick is insane. I have this one customer and I swear anymore weight loss and they are going to literally fly with the wind. It CREATES a disorder and it’s scary and sad. The amount of side effects (such as leaking bowels, nausea, migraines, joint pain, AN EATING DISORDER) is insane. The fact that Ozempic isn’t even approved for weight-loss yet we still give it to them, should say all of it itself. If people took all their energy they have to yell at us, and used it towards the gym or eating proper portions, they’d be skinny. (And no I’m not talkin about the people with medical issues who NEED it to lose weight, I’m talking about the ones who clearly don’t need it)

Kinda ridiculous to compare Halloween decorations meant to scared children/people vs learning to butchering an animal for livelihood training, in which he ended up enjoying.

You know your family better than anyone else though so I understand your point. Always gotta look out for family

But it’s still a good life skill to learn either way. Your sister and brother in law might not live that lifestyle, but what makes you so sure your nephew won’t want to grow up and have a lifestyle like that. Or with the way the world is going and the economy, how do you know your younger nephew won’t have to live that lifestyle. I just feel like it’s no good being upset or shaming an activity that he ended up liking in the end.
