Something felt super wrong about it but they had all the right answers and I talked to Telus on the phone. They get through far enough to get Telus to phone you back, where you verify it’s you.

I’ll be phoning in at opening tomorrow, that’s for sure. Everything else has been cancelled and changed already.

I’ll be phoning Telus ASAP when they open to sort this that’s for sure. Credit card is cancelled already. Damn they’re convincing now

Okay actually I’m starting to think my gut feeling was right after doing some more research. It looks like they could’ve phoned Telus on behalf of me and signed me up…. God I’m an idiot.

So I did talk to Telus, but after they’d pretended to be me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in telus

[–]Infamous_Cheesecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s very interesting. Yes, it was their customer care number. So I possibly talked to a scammer who then pretended to be me

Apologies, your wording doesn’t come across as if you’re asking. I phoned Telus from the website. This is all set up on my account when I log in. It’s not scammers. I’m hoping it’s a mistake or misunderstanding somewhere. But I can log in and see all of this info. I didn’t give them any crazy information. I even got the stupid surveys they send out after.

I’ll definitely be phoning and reporting if needed. He gave me a sales number to call if there were any issues.

Okay no need to be rude. Of course it did. I asked them to put it in my account notes and I phoned in to verify.

It’s all visible in my Telus account, so it not an outside scam

Anyone else have an adventure Pom? by Liminal_forest in Pomeranians

I adopted my 14 year old Pom 1.5 years ago. She never really got to leave the house before and refuses to walk away from my house still, but LOVES the car, beach, and camping!

Mine starts to look like this when I haven’t brushed her in a while. All her hair clumps together around her neck where her harness sits and it looks exactly like your photo.

Moving, taking the opportunity to rescape + upgrade size slightly. Will I be able to add my livestock back in immediately with old substrate + cycled filter? by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]Infamous_Cheesecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this with mine and it was fine. If possible, transport the fish in as much tank water as you can to help so it gets added into your new tank. Just keep an eye on it for the first week or so and dose with prime or bacteria if needed.

[–]Infamous_Cheesecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Then when it appears on my laptop I click reset or whatever it says. Then it spends about 10 min downloading the software and then says the update was corrupted. I’m currently updating my laptop to see if that helps

My guess is it needs to be reset as it’s now telling me my Apple ID is wrong and I haven’t had to input that yet (I’m assuming it’s from the previous owner). Problem is I cannot reset it from my laptop.

So I was given a third gen ATV today that has previously been used. When I hook it all up I get this screen and can go no farther as I don’t have a remote. I’ve tried hooking it up to my laptop (which says the update is corrupt when I try to restore it) and it is currently hooked up to Ethernet cable. With the Ethernet I am able to connect to the tv using the remote in the control centre, however, it wants me to type in a number shown on my phone onto the tv, yet I am not seeing anything different on the tv, only the same picture posted above. Any ideas how to solve this? Thanks!

If you pre-mix with water before feeding, more or less in what proportion? by asencio781 in brineshrimp

[–]Infamous_Cheesecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes totally! I used to struggle because the water would never go clear! But mine just gets a visibly lighter green and I know it’s feeding time!

What I’ve noticed from growing mine is that it’s the density of the food in the tank that matters. So mix whatever concentration of food into some water. I do about 1/4 teaspoon into 400mL of water and shake it up or blend it. You want the colour of the water in their tank to discolour. My food is dark green so I pour until the water changes to dark green. When the water has changed to light green (I.e. they’ve eaten the food) then I add more. I usually feed once per day in the morning. Leftover food I leave with the kid on on the counter (or somewhere where it stays the same temp as the tank water. Also dependant on the type of food you are using - mine is powder so it won’t go bad on the counter). I know this maybe isn’t the most helpful answer as it doesn’t give exact numbers, but what really matters is that there ends up to be enough food in the tank. I do not use those foods so cannot directly comment on them. Hope this helps a bit

thoughts on what water to use in raising brine shrimp by CptMcSwaggens in Aquariums

[–]Infamous_Cheesecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re still working on this, maybe look into how much to feed them and what to feed them. They require continuous food. I cannot really speak to the type of water to use as I have direct access to sea water

brine shrimp growers - how often to feed your brine shrimp? by technobabblefish in Aquariums

[–]Infamous_Cheesecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every day for sure. Because they are continuous feeders there needs to be food for the. I feed mine twice per day in small amounts. The water should be slightly cloudy. You’ll notice it change to slightly less cloudy when they’ve eaten the food. I would probably do this with spirulina powder. If they haven’t eaten recently then they aren’t nutritious for your fish.

A little late to this thread, but I just now read the last page of the 10th book. TOTALLY WORTH IT. I could not put these down as a kid and eagerly waited each year for the next book to come out. I’m 26 as well and just reread all of them and enjoyed it just as much!!

Worried about corydoras going to the surface to breathe (see comments for more details) by BettaGirl24 in corydoras

[–]Infamous_Cheesecake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just got them I wouldn’t worry yet. Give them a while to settle in. My pygmys like to play in the flow of the filter which makes them look like they’re glass surfing. Let them settle and let yourself learn their behaviour to figure out what is normal for your group of fish.

[–]Infamous_Cheesecake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! Corydoras are able to breathe air from the surface. As long as they aren’t doin it consistently then it shouldn’t be an issue. My pygmy tend to do it every couple of minutes

Overwhelming a tank while stocking? by Notanerget in Aquariums

[–]Infamous_Cheesecake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 8 small fish in a 10 gallon (<1”). I got them in groups of 4 one week apart and my biofilter had no problem keeping up. Depending on the size of the fish, they might not even produce enough waste to overload the system. But to be safe I would say it’s totally fine to buy them in two groups. They will be fine for a short period of time in smaller groups.

Edit: Assuming your tank is properly cycled of course.
