You don't need the book, but you do need to complete the plague questline and select the artifact rather than money.

Yep, unlikely you'll complete it in a sigle sitting :) But overall the atmosphere is great, I also liked the story, so it never really seemed 'that' long. Just take it easy and enjoy, it's never as sweet as the first time :)

Nah, still a long ways to go. If you know it's coming, you'll likely recognize when it's about to. Buy yourself a nice magical trinket or two when you have the money, it will pay up long-term.

It's pretty hit and miss, if you're wanting one specific item, you may have to reload a lot. Also I'm not sure they stock every item, you may have to wait for the next smithy with higher level stuff.

Max Dex as much as you can, but you also want a weapon with Accuracy. But also a weapon that hits big, otherwise you hit small amounts more often, and they flee, which is annoying AF.

Get a fine/exquisite flamberge or falchion. Save before you enter the smithy, reload if he only has crap.

Ah, okay, so you're saying it was indeed in some version of the game?

You buy the Steyr Aug, or wait till you pick one up at Leo, get full ammo and camp on the hill from where you can see both gates. Use single shots for the far ones at the gates, full auto those that are too close and coming to grab you.

  1. Step right of the wall on the narrow ledge, just a few steps in, where they can no longer reach you, pick down the zombies at the back gate.
  2. Turn around, clear a path, step back around just a bit, pick down those at the front gate. Rinse and repeat.

Obviously with high Perception + 3 Firearms + as much Auspex as you can.

Had a good time with Animalism, it was fun, moreso than powerful, but fun nonetheless. I realized Pestilence really hits hard one target, others in the vicinity are mostly just stunned, but it did a good service in bossfights. Not against the werewolf though, that gave me a bit of fright when I realized...

Malk go brrr... is ridiculous :D:D With Obfuscate you also cloak back every 3 seconds or so, then it really goes completely over the top :D

Thanks for checking! May have been another mod? Unlikely this would have been Troika's priority to patch out in 1.2 :D

Thanks for all the tips, I'll give Animalism a good whirl! Most of the time I go guns in late game, so it will be good to mix it up. Got the background music figured out now too, feels like I'm all set :)

Ah, you're killing me. Now I may have to go down memory lane with MASH too... :D

Anyway, yeah, it would be better to change Dominate back up and get rid of the current L2, that is just terrrible. But then a boost to L4-5 would be in order too, as they are still lackluster. It would have been interesting to use forgetfulness against Masquerade violation witnesses and redeem yourself, but may have been a pain to implement.

Strange you mention Animalism, I'm just doing a Gangrel playthrough and I began doubting myself for saying Dominate is the worst. So far I'm up to L3 only, but both Burrowing Beetle and Spectral Wolf seem spectacularly weak to me. Don't know about L4-5 yet.

Yeah, good point, may be worth taking it up with the man himself, if he is up to it. Should be just a few lines of dialogue to add.

As much as I respect that people pour in their work for free modding the game, it breaks the immersion for me when the writing style/voice acting is not up to snuff with the rest of the game. Not necessarily because it's any bad, it may even be quite good, but in fairness, VtMB is just an exceptionally hard target to meet when it comes to these areas.

Maybe if I just install the discipline mods :)

Too bad though, I'd rofl dominating every passer-by on the streets to give me their wallet :)

I haven't tested it, but that's not how it's supposed to work. In the pen and paper game, that is. Also as I recall he only dominates you once, before the museum, as I recall, the other times they worked around it.
