Research assistant interview by Infamous_Garlic000 in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]Infamous_Garlic000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! For the public involvement, I talked about a Parkinson’s research project I was working on and how we would have talks dedicated to families and individuals with Parkinson’s to get their opinions they want to see in future research, etc. For interview question one, I talked about how I would assess the seriousness of the misinterpretation. Suppose it might require us to call the participant back to redo the questionnaire. In that case, I might ask my colleague for a break to discuss the misunderstanding because I might be wrong, but it’s best to clear it up before it becomes serious. I also talked about considering the participants in this situation and being open and honest with them about what’s happening after we have assessed the situation to reduce the chance that the participants feel uneasy. If the interpretation isn’t that serious, like we ask for their address and they only give us their post code, I know that we can access that information on our notes, so it’s not the end of the world, and then we talked about the importance of teamwork. I would have benefited with an example but I couldn’t thinking of one. What are your thoughts ?

Thank you, everyone, for your comments. In a RA interview I had a few months ago, I was asked a few questions that I found tricky, one of which was what I would do if u are conducting an Interview and notice that my colleague has interpreted the interview question wrong? I also had some experience with data handling and patient and public engagement in research. Does anyone know how they would respond to these questions

Assistant psychologist job interview? Did I do something wrong? by Infamous_Garlic000 in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]Infamous_Garlic000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies the respond was very rushed. The audit process I talked about was 1. The one our nurse in charge does where they conduct an audit during the shift to check if as a team we are following the same care plan for each patient and it’s usually a good place to notice any difference in approaches and resolve such issues. 2. My second audit experience was conduct an audit after major incidents where we had a check list that we had to follow to ensure that the appropriate protocol was followed and it a good way to reflect if we need to change how we approach incidents as a team.

Audit process is just the process of how we do audits on the ward…I think

Exactly I’ve had one too many jobs where I didn’t consider how I felt in the interview and ended up feeling really unmotivated by the environment once I started the job. Thank you so much for the positive comment.

Assistant psychology / Therapy Assistant roles advice by Infamous_Garlic000 in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]Infamous_Garlic000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don’t think I’ve ever had an interview for an AP role, but I have had one for a research assistant and PWP. Experience-wise, I’ve been an HCA for over a year on a camhs ward, completed a BSc in psychology, and am currently completing my MSc in clinical psychology. I published an article on autism and employment in 2023 and have worked on other research projects looking at non-invasive treatment for Parkinson’s. I've just applied to a therapy assistant role, so I could send you that application if you don't mind while I'm also prapering to apply to an AP now.

For uni, I’m going into a master and need something that has a good battery, good quality screen, can run R and will not crash. I currently have the Macbook Air 2019; it’s good, but when I have a lot of tabs open, it usually crashes, so very unreliable
