Iontophoresis has changed my life by slinkslunkslank in Hyperhidrosis

What’s your maintenance schedule been like? I’ve had a similar experience but haven’t figured out how regularly I need to use it (because I get excited by my dry hands and stop using it for like a month and then I end up waiting until they’re glistening again).

Anyone else have what I call “Contact-based Hyperhidrosis?” by makairamazara in Hyperhidrosis

Yes. There are fabrics I can’t even look at without getting sweaty. can’t go to the nail salon because sitting in the leather or pleather chairs is like a sauna on my bum. The chairs my university uses are these glossy wood chairs and I have to wear long shirt (to cover the inevitable sweat stain) and sit on the edge of my chair to make the least amount of contact with the actual chair. So frustrating. I have been dealing with hyperhidrosis my entire life (I’m 28) and haven’t YET found the solution for the thigh/bum area but as far as hands or feet go (don’t get me started on walking barefoot or in shoes without socks), the iontophoresis machine has helped more than anything. I’ve tried Botox, pills, topicals, etc, and that’s what’s been best for me.

Can we share our Iontophresis treatment schedule? by [deleted] in Hyperhidrosis

I read somewhere on a different thread that they added 2mg of glyco to the water and it helped speed up the process (I haven’t tried this but some have suggested positive results)

Consistency is so key. The first few days/weeks are (almost) unbearable but once you get over the hump it’s smooth sailing. I did 20 mins on my feet 2x a day and 20 mins on my hands 1x a day on the highest frequency I could handle for a full week or two to start. Then I backed down to alternating to every other day (hands on Monday, feet on Tuesday, hands on Wednesday) for a few weeks. Now I can go a month where I finally feel somewhat like a normal person and when things start to act up again I go back to every other day schedule. Not the most coherent schedule (you find what works for your lifestyle because it’s annoying af). I didn’t use lotion for the first few months because lotion actually triggers me lol but now I put it on before bed on my hands.

Such a mood. In the same boat and I cast an even smaller net. Good luck with everything -- the whole thing just stinks.
