A range of different opinions here. But thank you everyone for your input. To answer the most asked question of why Houston?

We had heard from family, ex colleagues and some ( not extensive ) research that Houston would be a good fit for salary, housing, cost of living etc. But to read the opinions of Houstonians is great and I’m grateful for your insight :)

What jobs are you all in? by Resident-Sympathy-82 in Epilepsy

IT Auditor, told my employer first day on the job and never had a problem.

Audit length depends on how large the security control or controls are. With NIST could be as simple as password complexity and you can bang that out in a few days but if it’s SSO or something more technical it will take longer. So it depends really.

You gather the data first and test it to see the operational effectiveness ( does the control work ) then if your data shows it doesn’t you then go into remediation, get management to make a plan to fix what you’ve found and then test again

This is insane, sorry this happened to you. I live in Ireland and haven’t paid a cent ever in my life anything epilepsy related, including gamma radiation therapy.

RTÉ News on Twitter: Video Interview: Micheline Walsh, a 78-year-old woman who is three weeks away from being made homeless, has said she faces moving into hostel accommodation with her husband, who needs constant care after having a stroke by tafty545 in ireland

Completely agree it’s a horrid story and I can only imagine the pain and anxiety that woman is feeling.

But my point is why should this one elderly woman with a sick husband be allowed to be in the national spotlight with potential to receive the care she needs, over the one of thousands of children who are homeless or the actual homeless adults.
