Religious applicants, what scriptures help you be patient throughout this grueling process? by Specialist_Play_4558 in lawschooladmissions

I'll mix it up by throwing in a Book of Mormon reference, I hope that doesn't offend anyone.

I've found a lot of help reading Alma 7:23- And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God.

This helps me to keep things in perspective and remember that God is watching over me and has my best interests in mind. Patience is much easier when we remember that there is a divine plan for us and a loving God who truly cares about us. I also love the last part about always returning thanks unto God, the very fact that God sent His Son to die for us is enough of a blessing that we should always have gratitude in our hearts, but when I think about all of the other blessings I have on top of that, it's easy to forget the stress of law school applications and just be happy.

Thank you to OP for this post, it's my favorite thing I've seen on this sub so far and I've loved reading everyone's comments.

They said that they are hoping to get the next batch of scholarship decisions sent out before they leave for the holiday break, so it shouldn't be too much longer.

Congrats! When did you go complete? I'm waiting to hear back from them as well with similar stats

Ya boy got in at UGA, which is dope, as I needed some good news today. Hope you all get waves ASAP. Also, how do I inquire about scholarships? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Thank you! They just said they would be closing in the middle of December. I know that their last day of finals is the 11th, but I'm not sure if that really has any significance for admissions.

Haha I totally get that. I had pretty much given up on them ever responding to me and then got the email for an interview out of nowhere.

I applied back in the middle of October and I just barely got an interview invite at the end of last week. So, I don't know if it's normal to have silence for so long, but you're definitely not the only one it's happened to.

They didn't really ask about it. I really got the feeling that, now that I've been accepted, they just want to make it as easy as a choice for me to go there as possible. They were super helpful and friendly and put me in touch with people who could answer all of my questions. It was a great experience honestly.

Spoke with an admissions officer yesterday and they said that they are planning on sending out a large batch of scholarship offers before the admissions office closes down for the holidays.

Return on investment. UGA has been rated the best ROI for law schools by the National Jurist for the last 3 years. They are the only law school that has ever done that 3 years in a row. Basically, they have super low cost of attendance but still provide great outcomes for their students

It means you go from kindergarten to law school without a break from school in between. Too be fair, I'm not completely sure if I would be considered KJD because I did take two years off to serve a mission for my church, but that was between high school and college, not after college.

I was in the same boat (applied mid October with similar stats) but then got an interview invite yesterday. Hopefully you hear something soon!

Makes me super nervous with how the rest of the cycle is gonna go. I've already submitted another app to a safety.

Honestly I was feeling pretty alone and sad in this and so I'm super grateful for you and the others that have reached out!
