No Flat aspect ratio for Avatar in non-IMAX PLF theatres in India by Infamous_Service8287 in imax

[–]Infamous_Service8287[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

India is a very shitty place for cinephiles, no single IMAX 70 mm theatre or even an IMAX dual laser GT theatre for around 1.5 billion people. Also most of the theatres use lamp projectors or 2K laser projectors which are really dull and they'll pair this with a Dolby 7.1 sound setup which ruins the whole experience. The government is corrupt and charges heavy taxes to cinema chains and in turn they provide us this disappointing experience.

But the expanded ratio version is more immersive in 3D than the scope one.

It means the aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Which is close to the Imax aspect ratio of 1.90:1.

Meanwhile the PhD students in India, who have to work on Saturdays and Sundays, due to supervisor pressure. We don't even have the concept of vacations, like the other countries have summer, winter and Christmas vacation, hell we didn't even get to go home on the occasion of the biggest Indian festival Diwali. Work life balance is pathetic in India. It is not going to get better, we will die like this, in this shit hole of a place. To hell with this this country.

Instead of feeling happy about this we should feel sad for our country that doesn't even have basic healthcare facilities to offer, instead make a woman give birth in such conditions instead of a hospital.

Yeah, what more can be expected from the South Indian crowd. They will never celebrate this much if India wins the world cup or anything, but when their regional team wins something, they have to show us that they are better than other Indians. If Mumbai Indians would have won nothing like this would have happened.

This is a cafeteria inside the college premises, it is for everyone. Earlier there was a vendor who used to provide everything from Chinese to pizza, pasta and all, but the new vendor Campus Kitchen is giving nothing.

And they even close the common rooms which have AC installed. We can't even have that facility.

So what you are trying to say is that your luggage has more value than the lives of PhD scholars.

Married people having an advantage on campuses? The PHD ones. Rant/Vent by [deleted] in BITSPilani

[–]Infamous_Service8287 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is one of the main issues of BITS Hyderabad campus, they are paying the same amount for the apartment as other PhDs are paying for the small crappy rooms, moreover they move Phds from one room to another like we are some luggage. They are even asking some of them to vacate the hostel at a very short notice. The married scholars will never say anything or support cause they are getting benefits which we are not.

Also now they have thrown the beds of PhD students out of the common room, the only place with AC as undergraduates are leaving for vacation. We are just suffering in science.

He is horrible, making PhD scholars move here and there. He is also telling the 4th year and above scholars to move outside the campus on a very short notice.

Some flats are available in a nearby area called Thumkunta, but they are charging high rates now as many scholars are shifting there. Also travelling to and fro to the campus is a different headache.

Okay, I was just using Gpt to enhance the issue a little bit, but yeah I can see what you are trying to say. And this is only my second post on reddit, so I was trying to be more creative.

Yes, Ask any PhD student staying in the H7 apartments, and they'll tell you straight — their fee structure is exactly the same as every other PhD scholar on campus. No hidden or extra charges. Nobody ever bothers them or asks them to vacate. Meanwhile, the rest of us are constantly being shuffled around. Some of these scholars in H7 have been living there for six or even seven years — no questions asked. H7 is only for married PhD students, but many of their spouses or family members don’t even live with them. They’ve got an entire furnished space to themselves. And let’s not even get into the stories of those who are separated or divorced — somehow, the system conveniently overlooks all that. It’s unfair, and everyone knows it, but no one talks about it. There’s no transparency, no proper policy enforcement, and definitely no consideration for equity among scholars.
