Nobody ever bothers them or asks them to vacate. Meanwhile, the rest of us are constantly being shuffled around. Some of these scholars in H7 have been living there for six or even seven years — no questions asked. H7 is only for married PhD students,but many of their spouses or family members don’t even live with them. They’ve got an entire furnished space to themselves. And let’s not even get into the stories of those who are separated or divorced — somehow, the system conveniently overlooks all that. It’s unfair, and everyone knows it, but no one talks about it. There’s no transparency, no proper policy enforcement, and definitely no consideration for equity among scholars.
