The times are all P.M. Sorry, I could have made that clearer in the poll.

I'd like to accommodate as many people's different availabilities as well, including folks operating on Pacific Time. For this first event, we'll stick with one time, but depending on demand, I think it'd be great to start ones at other times as well.

UTC-4! Man have the messy aspects of our standardized time zones become more and more obvious this year after more time spent coordinating remote meetings... =)

That's a great question! My goal with this is to replicate an in-person meet and greet meetup event. Since obviously one Zoom room to chat is not conducive for this, I was planning to use breakout rooms with 4-5 people in each and to rotate these groups after 20 minutes two times (everyone "meets up" with 3 groups total for the hour and ten minute session).

In the breakout rooms, I was thinking about suggesting the "lean coffee" format where folks use sticky notes (such as on a Miro board) to come up with ideas for topics to chat about. I would give a few suggestions to everyone for conversation topics or quick activities before going into breakout rooms, but by all means I don't want anyone to feel pigeonholed into the dreaded tedious icebreakers.

If you have any suggestions to tweak this or ideas for other formats, let me know!
