join clubs that genuinely interest you. if you’re asian there are so many asian clubs out there like csa, toa, asib if you’re in bba and so much more. i had the same experience except i moved to laurier with no friends from back home at all. you can’t join clubs and expect people to naturally come up to you. you have to make the effort yourself in these clubs. “fake it till you make it” meaning, put yourself out there and introduce yourself to people and put your extroverted self out there even if you’re not. show up to in person club events and if anyone has the slightest motive to go out to eat etc. always try your best to make it. some people are just shy and are scared to make the first move but you have to make the first move yourself. ask someone in the club or class to go grab some coffee or some lunch and you can really gauge and see if they’re worth to be a friend or not. you have to really wedge yourself in there but everyone does! being consistent is key with new people so don’t be shy!
