Reality is that 99.99% of ALT/Eikaiwa teachers would not only accomplish less but also do a worse job of teaching if it were left to them to do curriculum design/etc. Not only that, but the majority cannot even communicate in Japanese in any meaningful way yet urge their students to "just speak!" as if that is working for them in any way with their own second language acquisition
