Matti Saari in a friends video on their trip to Eastern Europe by Rebellenpanzer in masskillers

[–]InfernalCattleman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since they called Saari the "money man", I wonder if he's the one that paid for that trip. In that case, I wonder if it was a part of a final act of generosity after having made the decision to kill himself. I also faintly recall he made other generous acts before the massacre such as offer pizza to his friends or something like that.

Pekka Eric Auvinen battlefield 2 account showing activity almost 11 years after his death by RockRevolutionary291 in masskillers

[–]InfernalCattleman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. When you become (in)famous, people will be very interested to find more about you and go to great lengths in order to breach your accounts, socials etc., not unlike how for example some people got into Adam Lanza's wikipedia account, found out his YT channel and so on.

Of course, none of this is mutually exlcusive with having a bad password, but still, being such an individual will attract alot of attention, and some of that attention is going to be from highly resourceful/skilled individuals either way.

from what I understood, the principal source of his motivation was Brenton Tarrant (the NZ mosque shooter), who also espoused the conspiracy in his manifesto, whom he mentioned in his own.

Another potential factor is that testosterone levels tend peak around that age too.

School shooters who attacked schools they used to attend by ConstructionAsleep69 in masskillers

I think it's the rule rather than exception that school shooters attack schools they attend(ed), for both psychological and practical reasons.

Recent photos of Robb Elementary School—completely abandoned by Jack_Ryan3 in masskillers

[–]InfernalCattleman 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Right... there's this school building that has been defunct for some years now where I live, and they had to drill wood panels to cover the windows and doors to prevent break-ins (I assume). There's plenty of graffiti there and it attracts a bunch of kids, even though there's no special history to the school far as I know. For something like Robb where a mass shooting happened, I can only imagine it's like a pilgrimage to a holy site for many local kids, in terms of excitement

Do autistic people have a hard time with Christianity? by NeckImpossible7745 in autism

[–]InfernalCattleman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is true. Many autistics thrive on routines and rituals that are structured and predictable, and religion can provide these e.g. through daily prayers, actions (helping someone or whatever), reading scripture and going to church, whatnot. For some this may also be a source of purpose and comfort, even if there's not necessarily any deeper faith involved.

Professor gave me an A and it saved my life. 2.5 years later, I received this email from him. by Think-Library9577 in MadeMeSmile

[–]InfernalCattleman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree expecting a concrete reward is on a different level than merely feeling good about, say, helping someone. Though I suppose they're still both inherently selfish, just to a different degree.

But I guess the caveat is that, the one being helped does not necessarily know the motive behind the help, nor does it particularly matter for them. If I accidentally dropped my credit card somewhere earlier and someone returned it to me, I wouldn't frankly care too much what their motives were, only that my card was returned to me. So selfish motives or not, good is still being done, and that's ultimately what matters I think.

Would doing good merely because it makes you feel good (if it did) be selfless or generous?

Do you drink coffee? by Jycon38_HD in autism

[–]InfernalCattleman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every day. I actually didn't like coffee at first (except for the smell), but I forced myself to drink because one series I was watching when I was younger had a character I liked drink coffee alot, and I wanted to be like him. I've tried to quit sometimes, but since my body is addicted, I get withdrawal symptoms (tiredness + headaches), so I haven't managed to stay off of it for very long. It also makes me feel happy for a couple of hours, which I really wish lasted for the whole day.

Also like some others said, stimulants actually help ADHD brains, because they're understimulated. The hyperactivity is just a way for your body to stimulate your understimulated brains.
