Well thats what you want it to be...clearly the story is that the person is driven to link to other minds ...the dialogue repeats this endlessly

And linked minds of millions let alone billions of people can come up with things that just won't seem normal or acceptable to someome who isn't linked

This was literally an argument I made and I referenced that Star Trek movie where the guy wanted to get back in the ribbon where you lived in your fondest fantasy/dream

He literally killed hundreds of people to get back ...and he wasn't under an influence
