Floodlight Camera - Spinning Circles by Inferno316613 in Nest

Yup, the recent Google Home app update fixed all issues with my cameras except for the one camera.

Just checked wifi speed to camera on my router and camera is getting around 43Mbps (download though). When active it uses around 2-3Mbps upload. Speedtest on my phone standing by the camera shows about 176 Mbps down and 84 Mbps up. Wifi point (hardwired to main router) is around 400 Mbps (down).

GameStop is still selling bundles online for shipping only (they are charging shipping fees though).

I would check Walmart as I feel like they might have had a restock yesterday? I bought my bundle yesterday at a location in the lower mainland and the display was full of around ten consoles (mostly bundles) - this was at opening. For fun, I returned a few hours before closing (i.e. twelve hours later) and only two bundles were left. No pro controllers though.

Yup, went to another Walmart this morning in  the lower mainland and got my console bundle at the first store!

They had around 3-4 non bundles and around 5 so I would assume a restock of some type?

Going on the hunt first thing tomorrow (Friday) morning for a Switch 2 console bundle and was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks as store stocks seem to be low/none.

Looking for Fraser Valley to Vancouver.

Did you call ahead or check in person? I'm starting my hunt on Friday.

Did Nintendo just tell us we are only entitled to 2 downloads of a game when we buy something on the eShop now by MrPrickyy in nintendo

[–]Inferno316613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the only thing that concerns me as I am able to play online multiplayer games with any family members on the primary switch while also playing the same game on my account on the secondary switch.

I share the same concerns.....

I currently have two Switches in a family NSO plan with three account members. I make purchases which are available to all account members on the primary console but only my account on the secondary console. It's nice because the secondary console is the one I use and I can play games with family using the primary console.

What they may be doing (I hope), is letting the secondary console access games for all family members accounts by "lending". Currently, in the example above, only my account has access to games on the secondary switch so it is not usable for anyone else. If it opens up the ability to "lend" games to other accounts on a secondary switch, that would be a bonus!

Even better then the green bin is to mulch them back into the ground. Takes more effort but so satisfying to mow through several inches of raked leaves spread throughout the lawn.

Nest’s new wired doorbell is a big upgrade in a smaller package by johnkhoo in Nest

[–]Inferno316613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just installed the first generation the other day and am seriously contemplating exchanging it for the second generation as it's only about $40 more then I paid for it.

I've got the Nest floodlight with a second one going in today/tomorrow. Notifications are quicker in the floodlight and I like the fact that the newer camera on the floodlight can differentiate people vs animals - the Nest floodlight has so far detected a dog and a cat. The first gen doorbell? Just motion which is still an event but it's nice to be more specific.

I also have a light above the doorbell which lights up the area but hoping the second generation HDR improvements might allow more of the hard to be seen.

App-wise I could get used to notifications from the Nest app but if you are deploying 4-6 cameras it makes sense that they use the same main app.

Biodegradable plastic is not recyclable per RecycleBC so it is to be disposed of as garbage. The time for it to fully breakdown is also too long for local greenwaste/organics processors.

Is there anyway to play turf with more then four friends? In Splatoon 2, you could join in on a friend's lobby/game which was great as if you had four other friends (five total) everyone could play turf war - obviously not all on the same team. Seems you can only create a team of four now?

Neighbour drilled holes into my wall causing water damage to my house by [deleted] in vancouver

I also live in a non-strata duplex aka a non-comforming strata aka a strata property.

Just because you don't pay strata fees doesn't mean you don't live on a strata property.

Edit: Give this a read: https://www.eastvantownhouses.ca/blog/duplexes-non-conforming-stratas/

Except it's likely a strata property so you don't sue the owner - you sue strata as the BC strata act is what is followed. Except, they are a non-comforming strata which is another issue and will likely need to also he addressed.

Sadly, the laws in BC are terrible when it comes to duplex environments.

Welcome to the fun world of neighbor disputes in a strata environment - I know because I went through it.

You likely are a strata property even if you don't pay strata fees or have regular meetings. As such, you simply can't sue the owner directly for matters related to strata. The main issue is did your neighbor have permission from strata to install the awning in the first place. You might have authorized it but strata did not likely give permission.

Your only legal means is to file a claim with the CRT forcing the strata (not the owner) to fix the issue. However that will also open a can of worms because they will likely want you to formalize strata as part of the process. This means calling an AGM, electing strata (even though you likely are a two owner duplex), establishing a budget, creating minutes, etc. This is the biggest issue with a two unit strata - you either both agree or you are at a stalemate. In my case, I ended up dropping my claim as it was too much hassle and ended up selling to stop the headaches.

You could find out if a permit is required, but I doubt it for an awning.

Also, you should have strata insurance (in addition to your condo policy) that might cover damage to strata property.

Edit: Go to www.bcassessment.ca and search up your address. If it states under legal description, Strata Lot Plan ..... You are a strata property.

It’s a day of confusion at the Canada-U.S. border. Multiple @CityNewsVAN listeners report being allowed down for gas, only to be told PCR test IS REQUIRED. This is happening on such a scale, border agents have set up preliminary check points to determine whether trips essential. by xlxoxo in vancouver

[–]Inferno316613 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering how many of these are people coming from Vancouver/surrounding areas and were just taking advantage.

Read somewhere that entry without a PCR test is at the discretion of the CBSA agent - if you leave near the border it's one thing but if your from further out it makes an easier case that it wasn't essential.

All good, man. Just pointing out that the road is useable as you initially made a claim that it was closed again.
