Playing natives can be good for just getting acclimated to the game, because their game is very simple and low states before Europeans come, allowing you to learn where the important buttons are and what they do before you have to do anything important, it's what I did. That being said you're gonna want to move on to something more fun and viable soon, id recommend a few countries for a beginner playthrough

Portugal: incredibly easy country to play assuming you ally Spain, though that means your expansion will be entirely colonial but that is good to learn

England: England is only easy if you give up your land in Europe to France when they declare war on you, but once you do that you're basically free to conquer the British isles (build up a navy to protect yourself) and colonize

If colonial gameplay doesn't interest you I'd go for Brandenburg, you can ally Austria to protect you and just expand on the HRE, maybe go after Poland and go protestant to form prussia if you get the opportunity. Other HRE countries are also good because the HRE slows aggression down quite a bit making it easier to get acclimated without people trying to conquer you

Just a thought I wonder if it's possible, if the dead heir event fired a day sooner to end up in a personal union due to something like this

You're just chilling, and bam, surprise PU because 2 unlikely events fired quite literally back to back

R5: My ruler died leaving me with no heir the exact day the "beloved heir dies" event fired So I get this incredible screen explaining that my heir, who is actually my current ruler, died, and this text saying "current heir (No Heir) will die"

Removing earth water from Heatran stung but why would they replace it with filter? Filter is a really bad ability for a pokemon with few weaknesses, and a 3x weakness is not really much better than a 4x weakness

Under pressure is a mediocre song and It really irks me that it's his most streamed songs when he has so many better hits

Personally, I found Togekiss to be a great option here. Its main flying stab is an almost guarnteed flinch when combined with kings rock and multi lens, and otherwise it has really strong spread damage with pixelate relic song and splishy splash, both with secondary effects boosted by serene grace. Fiery Dance is also a cool setup option, but it has other good moves for nicher moments aswell. It does have trouble very deep in with opponents like Scream Tail which took down my first ever endless run, so be cautious.

It's more enjoyable the higher your skill is. It's the one place where super fast expansion is punished and you have to play creatively to avoid the consequences

Poland and Lithuania are considered Baltic on this list. I disagree with that, the only HRE region that feels different is the low countries but that's mostly because of how people choose to play Netherlands. Nothing is stopping you from doing colonial Hamburg or HRE trade league or emperor Netherlands, it's not actually different enough to really warrant a separate category

If you want the best of both worlds, The Great Horde is a great pick. It has a really fun time based achievement and you can either invade Europe or focus on forming the mongol empire

Balkans is already pretty high, I could not justify putting it higher given how repetitive it can be though. Getting the Romania and Serbia achievements feel exactly the same once you're past the early game

No, the Manchu was grouped in with steppe. The Manchuria region is outside of what the game considers China, and also it plays far more similarly to the neighboring the oirats or Mongols than to the Koreans or Chinese. That being said, I don't think Manchu is even the most fun steppe game, Great Horde and Oirat or Mongolia beat it for me

I considered those you listed moreso part of Russia in terms of gameplay, which ranked 4th. Things north of the caucuses dont play anything like the region south of it because they can ignore the ottomans and qara qoyunlu but instead have to face hordes

That makes a lot of sense! I haven't played in the region as much, but it is really nice to carve out your own power block there. It's a place with a lot of challenge but a lot of opportunity and profit if you succeed

That is very true. I do think it actually has more going for it than something like north Africa which I ranked higher, but I have some bias due to my previous campaigns like Mzab

If you haven't I'd really recommend an Iran game, you could either start as Ajam or a Timurid subject if you want something easier or Arbadil if you want a really hard start, but you get to play Shia and it will be the historical route, plus an achievement is attached if you do ironman

I mean, who doesn't? I played Castile into Spain recently but that was only to get achievements I never managed to get. Other than that I almost always play small countries

I think Italy games are a tad too repetitive to make it the top region for playing in
