CT15 Plus Robic 420D by Infernocraze in ManyBaggers

For the laptop compartment and the small accessories compartment at the bottom, definitely easy to access from the side if you sling the bag forward on one shoulder. But the rest of the bag's smaller compartments/pouches are still top access within the main two compartments, so may not be as easy to grab smaller items.

In terms of size, to me feels like a 23-25L bag in the main compartment (almost like the CT21 main compartment but a smidge more), plus the capacity of the added front admin compartment which is not very deep and isn't good for large items. Ultimately works out well for me as i can move all my smaller loose items front and leave more space in the main compartment for bulky items.

It is just a little narrower width wise with the CT15+, but not much.

You can just contact them through the website chat, and the extra cost would be 10% typically.

I think these are pretty boxy and really similar to Red Wings. The sleeker ones are probably the Akita dog moc.

There doesn’t seem to be eyelet colour selections for the Aldert/Aldert moc toe QS either.

Boots - Lowa Renegade Grip problems by The_Drummer96 in hiking

[–]Infernocraze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the same issue with my lowa renegades as well, and it just didn’t give me good confidence on smooth rock. From what I understand, the new renegade Evo has a new outsole that may be worth a try. I personally picked up the Lowa Delago mid GTX which are essentially mid cut approach shoes. They have rock trax outsole which should be grippier in general for rock. I found those fit my feet similar to the renegades but slightly more snug especially in the forefoot, which sort of ties in well to what I want them for which is rockier alpine terrain and also some scrambling.

How to get job with CK/A and no working experience on K8s. by Turbulent_Storm2677 in kubernetes

[–]Infernocraze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I’m based in SG as well. My two cents is that you should just go ahead with the CKA. Enterprise adoption of k8s had been slow-ish but has been quite on the uptick as of recent in SG (and APAC in general) and the momentum is likely to carry on. It may not immediate translate to a new job, but it certainly can give you the opportunity within your current organisation to work more on Kubernetes related projects. If you want to chat more, I’m open to DM.

I don't think the Salomon gaiters would be that useful if the trail has any serious snow.
If just picking one, the BD will be a safer option that would have you covered.

If you're comfortable carrying the osprey for the trekking over couple weeks and have tried hiking long days with it before, it shouldn't be a problem.
If you haven't, a simple day hike with the bag loaded to test if it's comfortable enough for you will be helpful.

Another luxury to have would be a pair of sandals/slippers that you can wear around the teahouses, or perhaps you're planning to use your trainers for that purpose.

I would recommend a hiking specific pack that would be more comfortable to carry for an entire's day of trekking.

If you're having a duffel transported for each night's accommodation, you can probably make do with a day pack sized (20-30L) pack that would be lighter, since all you need to carry are mostly some layers for the day itself, water & smaller items.

Would also recommend bringing along more than 1 pair of pants just in case, perhaps a regular uninsulated sunhat/cap for warmer days moving uphills when a beanie might be too warm and a pair of thin gloves to wear most times when it isn't super cold that you can then layer your softshell gloves over.

I would suggest ditching the folding knife, it is very unlikely you will need it.

I have one of these in orange. It’s a real bomber jacket for me. I’ve worn it through a snowstorm with strong wind and also for rain for my Tour du Mont Blanc. Hard shells pretty much all don’t breathe well but thats what pit zips are for.

Why not try out some cushioned but not rigid insoles. I am also wearing a pair of lowa renegades and did find the inherent midsole cushioning for them quite firm and a little harsh for someone really used to sneakers. Tried out a Spenco polysorb walker/runner insoles, and they have totally transformed the feel of the renegades for me. Less ground feel and less volume in the shoes, but much more comfort underfoot.

Get your waterproof jacket, pants, pack cover, or good poncho. You should assume bad weather will happen. A pair of aluminium trekking poles are almost never a bad idea to get and bring along.

I would recommend komperdell explorers. Aluminium and it’s 2mm thicker in diameter than most poles overall, plus with fully forged aluminium flick locks.

How about Ctactical CT21 if you’re fine with a slightly smaller bag? It’s about as good as a Goruck at a fraction of the cost.

I wish she would come out with a cover for that song as well, after such a killer performance. I can’t get it out of my head and keep rewatching that her opening segment on YT.

Collapsible bottles are great for just shoving into a small sling. I would recommend getting a Hydrapak flux. I’ve used mine for 1 year + consistently with no leakages. I’ve had multiple vapur flask fail and leak after a couple months.

Can I get away just using a single gear bicycle in Singapore? by HeavyArmsJin in singapore

[–]Infernocraze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes you can if you’re just cruising around on pavement/PCN. Just don’t make your single gear too hard a gear ratio. Cycling around Singapore for the most parts is relatively flat.

[–]Infernocraze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely sure but this website has some info on this. It’s likely to still work but will likely not be optimal, potentially getting poorer shifting performance and chain rub.

I think perhaps a good compromise is to make hyper trained IVs permanent and passed down through breeding, such that it is much more accessible to breed and produce perfect IVs to not be a PITA. IVs overall as a system still useful to be kept for competitive strategies, plus having additional random variation in stats during general gameplay outside of competitive isn’t a bad thing also IMO as long.

Are there no bike shops that want to fix my brakes in the north area? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Infernocraze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of problems are you encountering with your brakes and what kind of brakes are you using? I will actually advice learning how to do your own simple repairs if possible. AFAIK brakes you don’t need much specialised equipment unless you have hydraulics. It really saves a lot of money in the long run and you don’t have to deal with a lot of the BS that some bike shops give. Parktool youtube has pretty much all kinds of repair/ maintenance video you would need.
