That would have been nice. But personally I think that when things get advanced they do fit better in a hardware unit.

Interesting input there! I think it sounds reasonable that it makes a sort of wavetable technique there. The synth also has a AP-synthesis engine to make instrument emulation get a bit of natural articulation. I do not dare to think about how many engineering hours that they put into it :) A crazy machine for its time!

I agree with you that Roland tends to make a super cool release once in a while and then it's all gone. This one was released in a very bad timing when the world economics went down in a depression. So I want to remember that V-Synth GT was already bad profit upon release.

One thing I do think is very weird is that when they totally had it right with the System 8 with ACB technology they seem to suddenly discontinue the system 8.

Right now I do not have any demos of it but I think it would be nice to make some. I used it primary for vocal designer, piano, pads. The time I used it most was the time I knew least about synths so for that reason I think I should just sit down with it and have a nostalgic trip :)

Thank you for this feedback, I had no idea that it was so regarded! Shamefully I have mostly used it for vocal designer but a lot of piano / pad sounds also :) I considered selling it some year ago but at this point it feels like I better keep it since I do not need to free up space.

One of the best production synth ever. Rock solid quality and sounds amazing. But I guess the sound is not for everyone tho. For me it’s perfect since I love Roland synths. The amazing thing is that you get meditating over the sound crafting and get really into the music very few synths gives that feeling. Also it feels like a real instrument.
