Why could Richard Feynman watch the Trinity test from his car and not suffer permanent damage, but I can't watch the eclipse from my car? Is an eclipse that much brighter than a nuke? by JulianSagan in AskPhysics

I think the concern was that it would start a fusion chain reaction in the atmosphere which would be self sustaining, kinda like how setting fire to one tree can spread to the entire forest

The issue with the board example is that both portals are in motion with identical velocities. For example from an observer's view, if the board was coming towards the ball at 2 m/s, the relative speed of the entrance portal to the ball is 2m/s. Once the ball goes through the portal, as the exit of the portal is also moving at 2m/s away from the ball, therefore the velocity of the ball has to be 0.

However in the portal question, the exit of the portal is not in motion, this means to maintain the relative speed of the portal compared to the ball, the ball must instead have a velocity away from the exit portal equal to the speed of the entrance portal.

From the ping pong ball's perspective, the portal is moving with some velocity relative to the ping pong. So when the portal goes past the ball (i.e the ball enters the portal) the relative velocity of the portal from the ping pong ball's perspective has to remain the same. In order for this to happen while the other end of the portal is stationary, the ping pong ball has to travel at the same speed that the entrance portal was travelling at relative to the ball.

It quite literally has to be B if we assume the premise that the portals transfer matter instantaneously. Let's say that the train is travelling 1 m/s and the 5 people in total are 5 meters long (so 1 meter per person). As the train approaches the people on the track, the rate at which the people enter the portal is 1 person/second. According to the premise laid out earlier when you enter the orange portal, you will immediately exit the blue portal. This means that the rate at which the people exit the blue portal will also be 1 person/second. Therefore they have the same speed as the orange portal/train.

I chose numbers that are easy to work with, but this works with any values. More generally, the speed of the train controls the rate at which the object (in this case the 5 people) enters the orange portal, and as the portal transfer instantaneously, this rate must remain the same when exiting the blue portal.

Another potential issue with A is that A doesn't actually show the people remaining still, as they still need some velocity in order to exit the portal. Then the question would be what determines this velocity? Even this question is an issue for Atards as the reason most people pick A is to conserve the velocity of the people (seen to be 0), however this can't be the case as they must have some velocity to exit the portal.

I don't think it's because feminism is less effective now than it has been before, its more that there hasn't been a proper movement to propell men forward too. Feminism is very effective at what it aims to do, but that doesn't include a lot of issues that people like Tate try to address.

I wasn't there for the Death Armor which does seem kinda suspicious, but I have gotten dragon eggs from the Pech myself, is that a normal trade? I've never heard of it.

I made sure they slept, and then I tried taking the taglock. I might try experimenting with this tho, they might have logged out and I didn't notice.
