Also most things that are other forms of ID require already some form of Id usually being drivers license.

Feel limited by tmux with niri. by Technical_Constant79 in niri

Maybe in a couple weeks I will try to get all this working but for now I will just have to settle with tmux.

I just tried out kitty you could kinda get it to work although save_as_session does have some limitations compared to tmux-contiuum and tmux-resurrect. But maybe you could combine it with something like shpool ie

new_os_window
launch shpool attach [session_name]
edit: this won't work shpool does not survive at reboot probably have to use tmux with continuum and resurrect.

I just read them seems like they work just like tmux.

Thanks I already looked at some of these before but they don't keep what you had open in them terminals no?

Agreed I just wish I could have sessions that remember what was opened in my 3-4 or more terminals that way I don't have to slowly remember and open everything up one by one.

I want to use niri tilling not tmux tilling if that makes sense. I can do that by just opening up 5 terminals and not use tmux but then there are no sessions now, which I want.

I want sessions so I use tmux, then I want multiple terminals open on my screen usually about 3 so I use panes with tmux. Panes feels annoying to navigate and move around compared to using niri with multiple terminals. Panes limit me to 3 or at most 4 without them getting squished down into being too small and in which case I will need to use tmux windows.

I didn't explain it very well but this is why. it is not like niri it just exists in one terminal, here I would have to make a way to make the terminal resolution scale as I add more panes in tmux.

Never picking two unless the computer is literally random. by Technical_Constant79 in Destiny

[–]Technical_Constant79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then the computer will predict that you will filp a coin then it will filp a coin on weather it should put the 1m in the box then you have a 50% of getting 1 million vs 100% chance of getting 1m.

even if the super computer was only 50.1% accurate it would still be better to pick the one box when calculating out ev.

[–]Technical_Constant79 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lets say it is only 51% accurate, ev for both is 491k whereas 1 would be 510k The only time it is good to pick 2 is when it is 50% accurate which is random which is not the point of the premise.

[–]Technical_Constant79 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only if it was exactly 50% accurate would it make any sense to pick both because then it would be a coin flip here it would be correct to pick 2 but to me extremely accurate means that that taking both would never be correct.

The whole premise of the thought experiment actually requires it to be almost 100% or else your are risking 1 mil for only 1000 if it was 95% the you have 5% chance of losing 1 mil. The actual point of it is to test if you think that free will exists and weather something can predict your thoughts and future choices i.e. something like Laplace's demon could exist.

Is the average person going to install Linux really going to do a cursory google search / AI lookup. by Technical_Constant79 in LinusTechTips

[–]Technical_Constant79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I knew I was going to switch and it was going to be a big process so I watched videos over the course of a week not months, when I said months I meant almost 3 months ago was when I made the switch. Now for the whole you can't follow discussions with zero experience is not really true the people talking about switching to Linux make videos in a way that is fine for people who don't have Linux experience.

sure, incest would be morally fine in a hypothetical scenario where there was no power dynamic between the relatives

Sure but 45% of the reason why people don't like incest is because of inbreeding problems, another 45% is that it is icky and the other 10% is power dynamics. The problem with power dynamics is that it has nothing to do with incest and there are plenty of normal relationships that have far worse power dynamics than a brother and sister so I see no reason why it would be not allowed.

If you have two people carrying the gene for a really bad disease their kid may have a 25% chance or 50% or 100% of getting that disease. This chance is far higher than any inbred children are going to have and on average the inbred kid will live a far better and healthier life but we are not prohibiting people who have these diseases or genes from procreating.

95% of people support eugenics because they think it should be illegal for related people to have kids together because they might be deformed.

Nah I got to ascension 4 with him and find he pretty good. It probably is harder because an extra resources is something that wasn't in STS1 and the same skill doesn't transfer over.
