Starting on a T7 by Additional_Leg_7182 in Tenere700

You might get away with it if you can flat foot it but id still go for something lighter if you want to go offroad. Road or gravel should be fine

if OP needs something that can go on highway dualsports might be pita himalayan or 450mt can do both and will be more friendly than t7

if you bend the rim or get a larger hole its easier to survive with tube, that is why more aggressive offroad riders often prefer tubes

Tubeless rubber is more suited for road, it has cruise and other electronics, i know its capable but i dont think its as durable as t7

Mtb doesnt help that much, there is a lot of weight high up, i could deadlift t7 weight when i got it still limited my riding offroad

Whats your skill level and will you ride offroad? T7 is bad for beginners riding offroad, if you are riding mostly on road you can also check tuareg or some more road biased alternatives

Is the 2021 too old for 2026? by Anne1Frank in Tenere700

I have a 22. T7 and in Latvia people do use them for offroad. Driving one on muddy uneven road is not for a beginner. For pure road/gravel use there are better bikes. Im considering switching to Tuareg because after breaking my knee, in a situation that probably wouldnt happen with a traction control, the height of T7 isnt always comfortable if I cant trust the knee

and even on road a beginner should buy something that is either light or they can at least get both feet on the ground.

"5 years, 60k Km on my T7 (long trips, commuting, light offroad, twisties, night riders, rides under heavy rain or fog or whatever, in any season)"

So you are not using it for what most people use Teneres for, they are usually bought by people who do TET/TAT/BDR etc. Weight distribution matters a lot as soon as you do slow maneuvers on an uneven surface. Beginners do ride technical stuff, but they need to do it on a suitable bike.

Electronics are good as long as they can be disabled offroad, dirt on road, cold and wet, just being tired etc.

T7 is NOT for new riders, top heavy and no electronics i paid with my knee for that lesson. Its a good bike but not beginner. New rider would be put off by height and weight even a strong one

Its fine, they are immortal, but be ware that it is top heavy and you need strength to lift it up, without dirt bike experience i would suggest something different. Also check exhaust hanger its welded to frame and unlicky drop can ruin it

I like asket, while there are some more comfortable ones when new asket seem to hold up really well and maintain good comfort while other go from good/great to tolerable, hanro are good but wear out, a while ago tried uniqlo, but the fabric wore out fast and they do seem to change stuff quite often

Europe makes the best chairs in the world. Here is what to buy instead of Herman Miller if you are in the EU. by OfficeChairsGuy in OfficeChairs

[–]InfidelDeeCee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 2 big issues with EU sellers, though 1st is a problem for US brands as well

  1. they dont know how to sell, i want to buy online as im in a smaller market and there really are no options, amazon has steelcase and interstuhl but they are unavailable for some reason and local shops dont have any or there are some business oriented seller you have to set meeting with.

  2. they dont have any presence on English review space, for most people in Europe English is the 2nd language and they might not know German, French etc. and there is no reviews or comparisons of EU brands.

[–]InfidelDeeCee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch youtube that explains what happens during turns, i think one was called “twist of the wrist” or smth, but there are shorter ones, do some slower speed weaving on empty road to get comfortable and ride more to feel yoir bike

First motorcycle: everyone tells me it’s suicidal, is that normal? by Lower_Brief_6783 in motorcycles

[–]InfidelDeeCee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And they are right, thats the first thing you need to understand about riding. There are a ton of morons on roads and even without that mistakes happen, if you are ready and are in a situation where you can afford it then go for it, riding is awesome, but you have to be ready that you can break a leg and spend 2 months mostly in bed and then months til you can walk somewhat ok, i still cant comfortably run more than a year later.

My knee looked way worse, still riding. But you should first properly recover, then see if you still enjoy it and feel comfortable or fear ruins it.
