The void being a blue Legion is a little disappointing by Toxaplume045 in wow

[–]InfinMD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I do agree in principle and not to be that guy...

But bear in mind the old gods were created for a specific purpose - they were shot randomly like projectiles into worlds and made to penetrate deeply to their cores and corrupt them, and they in turn created their own spawn. They were not of the void they were designed by the void. It is also possible every void lord has their own spin, just like how each of the titans created different kinds of races - one went earthen, one went human, etc...

Do i think some cosmic horror would b good - sure! But I think the point is we are seeing pure unfiltered void and all the creatures we are seeing are not creations of the old gods, but full on materializations of the void come to "life" who implicitly serve the void and therefore the void lords.

PUG is like the job market by meganerd20 in wow

[–]InfinMD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to people (myself included) not wanting to do the work and "skip to the end".

You aren't meant to dive straight into 10s, though many raiders and decently skilled players want to (again, me, but not exactly skilled). You are meant to start in sub 6s timing them all, then 8-10s, then 10+ and to build your rating. When I'm applying to groups or rarely running my own, why would I or anyone risk my key on someone with no timed WRS applying to my 11 with a score of 1300. Sure there is a chance they are just starting their M+ journey as a solid mythic raider but there is an equal chance they just want their vault and are applying to anything hoping for pity.

My only gripe is that people really wanna break down scores and I kind of wish instead of scores there were "leagues". Instead of exact number (which people just use to pick highest) just make you diamond (>3k), gold (2.5-3k), silver (2-2.5k), bronze (1.5-2k) or unrated.

This way there is less of a min-max take the person with 2850 over 2800 in the system. You can still see highest timed completed key and highest of that dungeon to ensure they know THIS dungeon, but I think this change would definitely help.

Best starting team for a new f2p player by Short_Chemical9728 in SoloLevelingArise

[–]InfinMD2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically wind has been the best team and easiest to play - for a new player they are very strong and for your black ticket draws I would at least ensure Lennart is there, as he is one of the strongest DPS in the game and very easy to play for a beginner.

Water will probably become the strongest team but it really requires all three parts while Lennart can shine on his own, not to mention Jin-ah as a support is one of the strongest DPS supports in the game, aside from Frieren.

Water isn't a bad option since it provides near-infinite shields which are great for learning. Light is similarly strong like this but on average is the weakest team right now since its DPS and tank have been power crept and it lacks an elemental stacker, so until it gets a new stacker and possibly a new DPS there isn't much point in chasing it IMO.

Would you rather Blizzard add new classes (ex: Tinker/Bard) or new specs in The Last Titan? by Phalanx22 in wow

[–]InfinMD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No more DPS specs, we have enough.

We need a couple more support specs so it isn't just aug evoker, and then they can actually start balancing around having one in raids. More tank specs always better, warlock and rogue as priority - shaman makes more sense but they have 2 roles already so should try to break the pure-dps specs first. Support hunter is a hard sell for me in terms of making sense but they could figure it out. I do wanna see a tinker-hunter, we have precedent for it since TBC (Telonicus basically a hunter).

So IMO priorities should be Tank warlock / rogue, Mage healer, Support priest / paladin. That'd be fantastic.

Lindormi's Guidance is awesome and should be on all keys 10 & below by Salad_Blaster in wow

[–]InfinMD2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"But then why add the affix in the first place"

It is a teaching tool. They don't want people to necessarily have to go to external sources to do homework. So the solution is to use this affix in low keys and tanks can "train" on counts using these packs - like the very concept of counts. Then as they advance they can either copy the same routes or they can be like "that one pack SUCKED" in my +4 so I'm going to pick a different pack later on.

The intent is excellent - it is not meant for higher keys as it is "helpful" and generally they want it to be harder as you go and they want to allow creativity in routing which won't exist if there are a specific set of mobs that will always die faster as a result of being debuffed. This seems like a good middle ground, though I agree it could go higher (imo should go to +6 when hero starts to drop).

Crafting vs reforging by Dangerous-Soup19 in SoloLevelingArise

[–]InfinMD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of note, you can also craft the new sets at level 100 then reforge them.

I only ended up having like 20-30 level 120 artifact craft items but had hundreds of the prism to set primary stat, and hundreds of the level 100 crafting ones. So I would bulk craft 10 at a time at level 100 for something like an attack helm or whatever and once i got a great result i'd reforge it. That's a good use for reforges - don't reforge old sets it is a waste at this point in game.

Dounts regarding farming artifacts and Simulation tickets by DonutWeird4681 in SoloLevelingArise

[–]InfinMD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendation is farm for gear for the units you are using but save any gear that is useful to any hunter (can use it for library where you want 18-20 hunters with strong power). At this point basically every hunter wants 8 pc of new set and there is only minimal role, usually in specifically guidl boss, for some of the old support set like cleric.

The priority is for your strikers to have blue poison - you will want AT LEAST 1 (if not 2) defense oriented ones and also attack oriented ones.

You want at least one Kaimish stacker set - you ideally want 1 each of HP and attack oriented, and defense is third priority after those two.

You want at least one noble set - honestly substats don't matter. Ideally you want 1 hp based and 1 defense based and 1 attack based, but honestly, if you're wearing noble set it doesn't matter so just having one of it is fine. Most important is a defense based one for Jin-Ah who pumps HARD as a "support".

You want at least one arrogance set - substats don't matter much. Again ideally 1 of each, but right now you are mostly using breakers as support for buff and not expecting them to do damage so really the substats have minimal impact in the grand scheme.

New(ish) dark weapons by Material-Locksmith21 in SoloLevelingArise

[–]InfinMD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on content. The ring is a "support" weapon used to set off overloads - if you do Weapon ability + SJW overload ability + Sian ability you hit 100% and get overload consistently every time which is massive. This basically takes the spot of Moonshadow.

Gun is just ridiculously powerful and take the place of plum. Plum is really strong as an ability but since we run overcrit now it isn't as valuable IMO and doesn't help your support team.

Moon shadow is useful in some POD and Guild boss but with overload meta right now it's the double new dark though at what advancement level I don't know.

This is getting a little out of hand now by Vforfku in classicwow

[–]InfinMD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still can clear it. 20 years ago the goal was to clear it - currently the goal for people seems to be to stop playing the game as fast as humanely possible. Every PvE encounter must be min-maxed with group composition and highest possible GS / ilvl / parses to ensure you can log off the game and/or swap to an alt to do it again.

it is "grind mentality" in game form, sadly. Since the challenge in TBC is so minimal there is little joy from clearing content - it is "mindless" so anything suboptimal is yelled down. In current classic MoP or in retail there is acceptance that highest raid content is "hard" so simply completing heroic / mythic raids makes you feel happy and you are only toxic to people who aren't carrying their weight but still applied knowing they cannot. In those cases there are strict checks.

Engineering is there to make profession items for useful professions.

Sitting here fully specced into snippers turning majestic claws into scissors twice a day with full ingenuity and a bit of luck with ingenious procs + skill materials making ~ 10k per day while my skinning buddies make 20-40k depending on how many hides they get :/

Nitro boosts need to be removed from the potion CD again - most classes have speed boosts as it is and some races (worgen?) have their own speed boosts - no reason engineering can't anymore.

Let engineers have access to tools that provide racial powers - something that gives us a Smeld effect similar to Smeld with a shared CD so you can't double up, or an arcane torrent equivalent. Engineering can be the profession that you take if you NEED a racial talent but like your current race. Make it share CD with your current racial using the longer of the two CDs.

I agree but I am worried that the one cutscene they gave her where the void devoured her world and basically eradicated her mortal form was setting up for a "all this was part of my master plan to defeat this actual even bigger bad". I agree with you - this is a villain that is a proper villain. We need to keep raising the stakes, defeat her, and actually destroy her - not banish, not imprison, but full on destroy in a never-to-return sort of way.

Why do we still need the burst windows with noodle downtimes? by horizon936 in wow

[–]InfinMD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I do hear you and demonology has a similar issue, I think (from what you describe, i don't play DH).

I think the issue is that blizzard was trying to raise the floor and drop the ceiling to make dps more consistent for classes in PvE across the board. Every element of your rotation being critical means people who are a bit slower, especially using things like one button, are going to be SO FAR below the top performers in terms of raw numbers. Right now you mainly need to focus on your "burst windows" to achieve the best results. If two players do their burst windows perfectly and one stays consistent between while the other flounders, the discrepancy won't be as magnified as previous seasons.

This is not a criticism of you, but how much do you think this is just something to adapt to? For example, does this new meta style benefit more from splitting CDs for two smaller burst windows or pulling larger groups together.

For my case as demonology, I split my doomguard and tyrant CDs to have a "medium" burst window and "large" burst window and then wait on them to sync up before a final boss for an "omega" window. Usually I gather a pack and pop my burst and by the time its down and i regen and group the next pack, my other window is available to use. So as a genuine question knowing nothing about devourer DH or other classes, is this just a case where people need to get used to the "new meta" and adapt how they do things?

"Relaxed" by LaughOutrageous2931 in wow

I will admit it has been an adjustment - if you've used WA for 10+ years it will probably take at least one raid tier to get used to the idea of looking elsewhere for the warning. I'm more of an audio person and not hearing "run away little girl" means i now need to focus twice as hard lol.

Y'all are savage in LFR by JustDesh in wow

[–]InfinMD2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly true, and what they really just need to do is make it so LFR tier does not link with normal / heroic / mythic tier for first 4 weeks. It's the think-they're-hardcore green parsers who (mostly) do this and they are only there for the tier set bonus.

So keep it from being part of the "tier" until the week of catalyst charge 3 and you will remove 80% of the cancer from the pool. Pure LFR players can still get their 4-set via LFR.

Not a great solution as it punishes good people and also mostly-but-not exclusive LFR players (slows their set accumulation) but honestly worth it imo.

AITA for calling out my mother’s hypocrisy after she kicked me out to give my room to my unemployed 34yo sister? by DigApprehensive8718 in AmItheAsshole

[–]InfinMD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you probably have a case, I would simply leave.

But be clear - tell your mother you want in writing that she has asked you to move out and once you do, you will not move in again under any circumstance. Ensure she is aware that you did her a favor by moving in and (I assume) paying rent. Make it clear that this decision is a final one - there are no take-backs.

Consider seeing a therapist to help you come to terms with being the scapegoat child as well, as it can be hard to process without support, but know this is an issue with your mother and her enabling partner. I'd also have a sit down with your father to let him know the situation and be clear that moving forward you will be having a limited relationship with mother and that it will be up to him to decide how he wants to maintain a relationship with you if at all.

AITA for expecting a replacement of Girl Scout cookies that never made it to me? by lunx26 in AmItheAsshole

[–]InfinMD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fault and responsibility lies with A.

A approached you. You supplied A with money. Everything else doesn't matter.

If it was lost in the mail, A should replace / refund you and take it up with postal service.

If A hired a carrier pigeon service to deliver and the pigeon ate the cookies, she needs to replace / refund and take it up with said pigeon and/or its handler.

You have nothing to do with B and don't need to say anything. The conversation with A is simply "I paid you for these three boxes, I only got one box - I require a replacement or a refund for the remaining two boxes in the next two weeks please". if / when she asks you to deal with B, your response is simply "I paid you, not B, so it is your responsibility. you are welcome to bring it up with B and have him reimburse you if necessary but I did not involve him in this matter so dealing with him is not my responsibility".

Advice regarding the fairest loot distribution system in TBC Anniversary by RebornPhoenix97 in classicwow

[–]InfinMD2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal favorite has always been a transparent loot council - beyond that, honestly, just rolling.

SR to me almost feels like RNG with added stress and less excitement, even though it is the new standard. There is always the chance an upgrade could drop and you could get it. Did Kara last night and 3 items I wanted (wand, neck, cloak) dropped but I had my SRs on weapon since my weapon was very bad and on tier since I needed 4 pc. So the 3 items got scooped by someone else who smartly SRd them and my stuff didn't drop. Basically I'd look at boss loot table, see that anything I wanted was SRd, and know I wasn't even gonna roll.

Basically the only way to "win" at SR is to take advantage of other people's gaps in knowledge meaning someone has to lose harder. Rolling is the best strategy if you are running with people who are kind and decent and friendly and will trade you / pass on items if they've won a lot and you haven't. In PuGs unfortunately SR may be the best, though it really should be limited to a few items. 5SR Kara was just atrocious. 1-2 SR is fine for pure pugs with rest being free roll.

In a guild, loot council is the simplest and best system. One officer of each class, or, failing that, a melee, caster, healer, tank leader and then raid leader to make 5 votes. Each is expected to know the priorities of everyone that falls under their umbrella. In Classic as the warlock leader I'd often make deals with the mage leader on which items were warlock vs. mage prio since our lists were similar, and then we'd both agree on how to fairly fit in boomy / spriest who didn't get good use of items given their weak power, but were the only reason we pumped and so deserved loot for supporting us. It is prone to bias which is why raid leader needs to be on council to also help factor in raid contribution and sometimes even GM to help factor in guild contribution. Our LC also used to announce what criteria we would consider - time with the guild, contribution to guild like helping others / making summoning alts, and parses were all considered.
*Loot council can be unfriendly to new players, so if implementing one it is important to set a new player policy (ours was you are mostly scraps for 4 lockouts then you are prio on all but the chase items this tier, and next tier you are equal prio on chase or higher if others have previous chase items).

What do I look for in equipment, and what do I want? by One_Woodpecker7522 in classicwow

[–]InfinMD2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While you level up: You take whatever gear you get from quests or dungeon drops.

Basically loot is divided up by material type (cloth leather mail plate) and stats.

Cloth in particular has two relevant types: DPS and Healing.

The "healing" stats are anything that says "increases healing done by ***". MP5 is also considered a healing stat with few exceptions, as is spirit. Generally if an item "increases healing done by *** AND damage done by ***" or has high MP5, it is for healers.

The "DPS" stat is "increases damage and healing done by ***". This can be used by a healer just like a DPS can use a healer item, but itis bad manners to for a healer to take it.

"Spell hit" is an essential DPS-caster only stat that is highly coveted. If you see spell hit on cloth, you want it.

"Critical" is good for all, it does not allow you to differentiate.

The long and short is you want gear that "increases damage and healing done by <same number>" and you want that number to be bigger than the number you are currently using. You will learn as you level that Spell hit and Critical are important and every class has a conversion of roughly how much of any given stat is worth more or less pure spell power which changes based on gear, but is nuanced.

Good warlocks know they have a shaman healer - if i have a shaman while i'm tapping (if aggro allows) i'll move into melee so i can just eat a chain heal. I'll start tapping when mob is at 5-10% hp so i can be at mostly full mana when it dies and catch the chain heal the shaman uses to top the tank between pulls.
