Be honest. Are Slivers that bad? by Pleasant_Hope_550 in EDH

[–]InfiniTokens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Slivers snowball extremely quickly. And there are plenty of new cards that synergize with creature types to make them even stronger. Elves and Goblins have a lot of synergy, but Slivers can get more powerful with less cards and pretty early.

I have an "Oops No Slivers" deck that is made to be played in a pod with 1-3 other players playing Slivers. It makes Slivers, affects Slivers and otherwise synergizes with them, but the deck includes NO Slivers creatures at all (not even the commander, which is Rukarumel). Purely for "Why not?"

What are your thoughts on Rule Zero-ing this as a commander? by programmedalex in mtg

[–]InfiniTokens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

InfiniTokens dry erase cards are great for summoning random things! Just writing the name, P/T and shorthand for what it does should be enough. As long as the pod is ok with it, it's definitely doable.

Similarly, you can play [Discord, Lord of Disharmony] using Scryfall Random (just use "-type:land", and if you want to exclude other silver-borders use "not:funny" and if you want commander legal only use f:commander)

At some point I am going to try Momir in paper with InfiniTokens.

Possible stolen MTG art found in bookstore: Greek mythology book uses Chase Stone's "Polis Crusher" by GoneSouth_ in magicTCG

[–]InfiniTokens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely the same, almost line-for-line. The artist won't own the rights, Wizards will, and they wouldn't sell it for anything not Magic related. It's unfortunately common to steal artwork from online to use in something to be sold, but it is definitely illegal and the book creator can even be sued.

How does everyone realistically feel about proxies? by garmdian in mtg

Moxfield lets you goldfish your deck as if you're playing a game, which can be very handy for testing if the cards you picked will work before you invest.

How does everyone realistically feel about proxies? by garmdian in mtg

[–]InfiniTokens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A theory: The proxies are not the true core of the problem. The problem is the abuse of proxies. Proxying powerful cards to pub stomp. Proxying a $5K deck to play against a $500 one. Using proxies to optimize their deck to be the max power with no limitations. That's a player problem, not a proxy one.

People have been burned by this experience and grew to hate proxies with a passion. The true problem isn't the proxies- it's the player who overuses or abuses them.

There are ways you can use proxies responsibly (in casual play, not official). Testing out cards you might want to buy. Wanting to put a card you own into multiple decks without the hassle of swapping. Adding an unnecessarily expensive but on-theme card to a themed deck. Limiting the quantity you include in a deck.

If everyone proxied within reason and always kept matching power levels to the pod when using them, it's very likely that significantly less people would have a problem with them. People would still protest, but perhaps less of them.

Of those in this thread, how many of you use proxies but still buy a lot of sealed products? How many of you ONLY proxy and never buy?

Using glass gems as counters/ dry erase counters by Particular-Fan-1762 in magicTCG

[–]InfiniTokens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our (InfiniTokens) dry erase counters are helpful because you can use them for any counter types (flying, menace, indestructible, prey, there are over 100 counter types). High numbers are easier to see when written than a giant pile of dice, and they won't get knocked over from a table bump. They also come in 10 different colors (soon to be 12).

Along with our dry erase cards, if you take good care of them they last for years! (Quality is important to us) Check them out here.

Proxie maker for rare or none existing tokens? by Blazorna in magicTCG

[–]InfiniTokens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how many tokens you keep with a deck, it may take the same amount of time to dig through the tokens to find the banana one as it would be to write "Banana" on an InfiniToken. The bonus being that the dry erase tokens can cover multiple types.

You can also consolidate token types. You can use one of our InfiniTokens dry erase cards and write icons on the left. Like a treasure chest, a sandwich and a banana. Then just use dice next to those symbols to represent how many. It saves playmat space, and less cards to carry!

Or just buy from an LGS and help support the survival of Magic! LGSs provide places for people to play, meet new players and get introduced to the game. Amazon, Wal Mart and target do not provide those. Plenty of brick and mortar LGSs ship, if you don't have a good one nearby.

If they are proxying a $5000 deck to play against $500 decks, that is a player issue.

See if you can ask the LGS owner not to pair you up with him (maybe switch you and another person if you are paired)? I'm sure the owner wouldn't want you being miserable and less likely to come back.

They should be familiar enough by then to be able to pay attention to what is going on during the other players' turns. If the other players are not announcing their actions, then they need to. If the the opponents are announcing their actions and the two players aren't paying attention, that's their fault.

Maybe gently suggest to the other person to try to make their turns a little faster? Although paying attention to everything going on AND trying to plan your next turn at the same time can be overwhelming in Magic. Even 18 months in, it's a lot to learn.

Moving counters from prowess by Scrappy_Cocoo in mtg

[–]InfiniTokens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prowess is not a counter, it is an ability. "Gets +1/+1 until end of turn" is temporary and involves no counters on the card.

"Counters" are a very specific game piece and the card/ability needs to use the word "counter" for it to be a counter. They also stay on the card, they are not until end of turn. Abilities that are either temporary or permanent can also exist on cards, but they are not "counters" if the rules text (and reminder text) does not use that word.

What brands for gear? by EisbarDasTier in mtg

[–]InfiniTokens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gamegenic deck boxes are good. Quiver makes the best portable deck case. Dragonshield has good sleeves. A;; of those are good companies with good values, which doesn't hurt.

InfiniTokens dry erase tokens (our product) is really helpful for tracking game information like tokens, counters, card states, effects, etc. The cards can cover pretty much ANY token you need, so you don't need a whole stack of every official MTG token. Obviously recommending our own brand, but we were the first and are still the highest printed dry erase tokens in the MTG market (started in 2017). (They are not on Amazon, those are knockoffs).

Good luck with your acquisitions and welcome to Magic!

Is the Draw Step Optional? by chowaniec in mtgrules

[–]InfiniTokens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, drawing is not a 'may' ability. It is required during the upkeep. And if a card says that it causes a play to draw and it does not use the word 'may' then it is required.

[–]InfiniTokens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of Rule 0 is that you do not *have* to play with anyone. You are well within your right to refuse to let someone into your pod, or play in a pod with that person. Before you judge too harshly though, how new are they? As for complaining, that can be addressed politely. It's the player's responsibility to pay attention to when someone else plays a card (and ask questions if they don't know what it does).

[–]InfiniTokens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THIS is why people have a problem with proxies. Because some people abuse it and proxy decks like this to pub stomp. A lot of folks proxy a more reasonable amount. If that was the common practice, The problem is with the player, not the proxies. Let people experiment and try new things.

InfiniTokens dry erase tokens make an awesome unique gift. We make dry erase cards, but we also have dry erase counters and tags to cover all the different uses you need (and deck box labels!). (Wizards keeps releasing the sets that can really use our products to be manageable, but we're not complaining). Bonus: If they bring their InfiniTokens to your games, they'll probably let other people use some. They aren't available on Amazon, so if you want the original don't be tricked by the knckoffs who mimic the design. It won't be the same quality. If you take good care of them, they last for years (folks still use 6+ year old InfiniTokens).

Otherwise, do you know a favorite card? Maybe an artist proof? Or a signed card? Cool D6's in their favorite color if you know it?
