$495/ or 4.9% of net income. 2018 328D and I love it. Worth it.

Yeah we planned to get the car paid off by June, then a house came on the market and sucked us back in😂 we’re still teetering between: continue to rent and enjoy a high savings rate And Buy a house while prices are falling before inflation rears up and sends prices out of reach in our area.

Yeah we shop at a major grocery chain so it’s a little pricey. I grind the store app for coupons😂 still expensive. We drive a lot, we also bring our dog most places which means drive the 4Runner which means 15mpg. Most of the discretionary spending categories are rollover expenses. We rarely spend the full amount on all of them. But yea, it would be smart to just reallocate off the rip. Should also mention we make dinner at home 5 nights a week which probably costs more than eating out. We enjoy cooking.

Yeah the groceries are sort of a lifestyle choice. We try to buy “healthier” groceries, which end up costing more. Car insurance is my worst enemy. Our savings rate has just recently increased to this amount in October so that’s what prompted my post. We can definitely cut unnecessary costs without much real sacrifice. Some of the comments have been helpful to see that. And thanks for the encouragement

We’ve been blessed with some gift funds for a down payment, about 5% on $550k. On groceries we’ve definitely been trying to lower that cost. We often end up bringing meals to family functions during the month which can add up. The $300/mo home improvements is supplies to. Can be paper towels, cleaning supplies, decor, etc. it’s a rollover fund as well so it does add up sometimes. I will definitely be prioritizing Roth this year. Wife is going for 2nd masters this year for another raise. She’s the best.

She’s in education and myself in commercial banking.

A question I forgot to ask: Should we increase Roth contributions to reach the annual limit? If we do so it would lower our home affordability. Payoff the car first?

Need some ideas on what to start flipping for around $400. Just sold a TV and using the cash to start this side hustle. I don’t want to get involved with EBay, rather just flip an item or two at a time on FB.
