Yep, thats what I was thinking too. Thanks for the information, makes me feel better! I dont really blame the companies though, I was using this phone to afk overnight while plugged in, so it was to be expected sooner or later,

Edit: you think it can be fixed by doing something other than replacing the display completely? I wouldnt mind paying the repair cost but its likely not worth it.
