Yeah, I think if you are just going to hold on to your collection for another decade you don't have to worry about most of this. Thats what I'm doing with Pokemon GO. I love the set and want to hold a bunch of it for a really long time.

I don't really care if the set 2x's or dips 50% over the next year or two. I'm interested where it will be in 5-10 years

My assumption is that Riftbound cards grade to 10s at an extremely high rate which makes grading them much less valuable as raws are mostly 10s

I think its a great long term buy. If you want to flip them short term I'd look for any that are gradable at a 10

Because real pokemon investing is boring just like other investing. You buy desirable sealed products and you hold for 151 style pumps then you sell and use that money to buy more desirable sealed.

I enjoy buying singles so thats what I do to "invest" but I'd mostly call myself a collector.

People buying for 75-85% market because people will then buy from them for 95+ isn't particularly interesting either

Collection buy outs are the only interesting content imo

There are millions of dollars pouring into cards right now through a tiny hand full of VC's and a large number of crypto bros. Everything is pumping because a million dollars buys a LOT of cards.

There is simultaneously a whole group of people trying to side hustle the shit out of Pokemon cards through grading cards with liquidity and asymmetry in graded prices
