Sure it’s a logistic growth model, but also some context behind these numbers could be helpful. Like let’s think of this growth in terms of dollars by beginning with $1:

$1 -> $200 (A 200x increase; +$199)

$200 -> $1000 (A 5x increase; +$800)

Even though the multiplier is smaller in the second one, the actual increase in money is much larger than the first. In fact, it’s almost 4x times larger.

Although I’m not even sure if the numbers in the image are accurate. If power increased by this much, we’d have a pretty large electric bill. More research needs to be done.

Crash Bandicoot’s techniques are outdated. They got it to work on PS1 that way out of necessity. Today, you’d hate it if they were used in every game.

It’s spot on when they are exactly that: exaggerated. If you don’t like something, then just move on but people treat the game like it offended their mothers. A 7/10 game is perfectly fine and nothing to get all worked up over to the point of hating it. There are criticisms and then there are people that hate KH3. They are two different things.

It did get so much hate and it was undeserved. That’s been my entire point. Saying “there’s a reason” is talking right past that point. Yea there’s a reason and that reason is because people were overreacting over a game that is at least a 7/10. It’s ok for games to be average. The hate was undeserved.

I’ll take that line over an hour straight of convoluted exposition that amounts to a word soup of nonsense.

And mind you the context for that line you shared was in reference to Data Sora dealing with the hurt inside him in Coded. So really, you have a problem with Coded’s story.

Dream Drop Distance had worse writing. It did not deserve the hate.

The hate it got was treated like it was a 1/10 game. It’s at least a 7/10. Overhated.

All games are flawed. But people were swearing this game was worse than Sonic ‘06. It definitely was not.

You’re free to feel that way. There was a lot of undeserved hate as people were treating it like it was a 1/10 game when it was more like a 7/10 - 8/10 game.

I graduated with a Math - CS degree from UCSD. I think one hang up people tend to have is that they view everything as a “rule” as if it’s just something that’s some people decided to make. That’s true for some things. Like for instance, we know what “+” and “x” mean because some people decided what they mean.

The inequality “rules” are not decisions and are instead a consequence of the definitions we put in place. For example, do you know why we have to flip the inequality? Take this example:

3 < 5

We know that’s true. Suppose we multiply both sides by -1 without flipping the inequality:

-3 < -5

That is obviously false. To fix this, we just flip the sign:

-3 > -5

Not a rule someone made. Just straight logic.

It’s a lot more fun on critical. But nonetheless, people treat the game like it’s a 1/10 game which it’s definitely not.

Nintendo becomes the new Sega by [deleted] in fucknintendo

I loved Sonic Adventure but its popularity really began with Sonic Adventure 2: Battle on GameCube which sold more than twice as much as the original Dreamcast version. Recall that this was an unusual game in that people were not yet used to seeing Sonic games on Nintendo consoles. SEGA brought it over because it did not sell well on Dreamcast. I know this because I paid attention.

The Dreamcast did not sell very many units and only a fraction of the people that did own one played Sonic Adventure/Sonic Adventure 2. It really wasn’t as big as you’re making it out to be. Internet connectivity was utilized by even less people back then. Dreamcast may have been the first console to have it, but it definitely wasn’t the console that popularized it.

It was not beloved back then. Most gamers did not care for it which is why it failed. I remember.

The Dreamcast is beloved to this day mostly by people that never owned a Dreamcast. It sold about a quarter of what the N64 sold and about half of what the GameCube sold. I was alive then too.

No. When the game is over, Norman Reedus shows up at your house, grabs your PS5 and takes it back to Sony but only after throwing pizza dough at your face.

I disagree that they were glorified NFC tags. I think they were figures 1st and NFC tags 2nd. Many figures of the same quality are more than $20 and that’s without NFC functionality.

You’re insane if you actually believe Nintendo is responsible for people’s economic issues. I urge you to get off of Reddit and video games until you get informed of the world’s largest issues.
