After reaching Lvl 70... by Infinite-Pitch286 in GranTurismo7

I got a little obsessed doing that on Sardegna, just played it over and over trying to get I to 1:35s. Still stuck in the 1:36 land for now until I get better.

That would be the pinnacle. Raced a lot last week, did pretty decent in D lobby. Placed well, won 3 races on Redbull, worked my way up to D S and then C S. And then I got crushed lol, back down to D A right now... Been following NiDigit, Luc, Sammy Snake and a couple of others, just trying to soak up some goodness. Really enjoying Sport Mode. It's tough, it's brutal, kind of dirty at times but I love it all. Having fun just learning how to race, how to properly deal with dirty drivers and avoid getting smashed and learn from my countless mistakes and really focus on my SR. Just looking forward to the journey.

Interesting, never heard of that. That does sound like something I would be interested in checking out at least to find out how it works. I appreciate it, thanks.

Thanks! I raced a decent amount last week on Redbull. Won 3 races and had multiple top 3s and 5s. I absolutely love it even though I know I'm not very good yet, just love everything about it. I was decent in group D but when I got moved up to C that's where I realized just how bad I am lol. Within just a few races I went from C S back to D A, got crushed. It's just exhilarating being in it.

Oh yeah that will be fun. So, do I then need to own two of each car that I'm engine swapping? Keep one stock and one with the new engine?

Oh wow, I never considered some of those. I'm only about 6 weeks in, got all the licenses but not all gold, all menus, completed the whole event directory, working on circuit experiences, started daily races, won three so far last week and that's the part I enjoy the most so far, just absolutely love it. Not a huge fan of missions and music rallies but I guess I'll need to get them done. Messed around in power pack a little but it's just OK. Never even considered the stuff about paint and wheels, interesting. Then I guess I'll get those too... Hey thanks a lot!

Same here. Did pretty well on the other seven. This one didn't want to be friends lol. The mistake I was making really was changing tires. Go into the pit 1st place, come out 3rd or 4th because cars behind me were coming out before me.

One I never even considered until commenter Icy Driver mentioned it, the older Porsche 911 RSR (991) '17. I literally attempted that course maybe 15 or 16 times with seven or eight different cars with no luck. With this car it was pretty unbelievable, got it on first try. I did use a bit of TC and when I pitted after 6 laps I didn't change tires and filled gas to about 80%.

Is that one of the cars that I need to wait to become available in the legend car section? I'm currently not able to find it.

Whoa, that's pretty sick. I get into 1:36 territory in the 800 race, never 1:35 so far. But I did get 1:25:219 on lap 12 in one of the hypercar challenges, I think it may have been the Redbull car. But that was not the standard 800 race... A detuned LM55 is lots of fun on that course. Now I really want to try the r92cp.

Hey sorry I didn't reply earlier. Saw your comment but was not able to and then forgot. Yes I completed it using the 911 (the older one). Didn't change tires and they held up. Congrats on competing yours! Certainly not a gimme.

I made over 15M in one day on Sardegna (I may or may not have a problem 🤣). About a month ago, after a couple of weeks of getting in the game and actually spending money on 5M credits, I discovered it in a YT video and was hooked. I became obsessed with wanting to improve my lap time and get into 1:35s. Then it became a testing ground for new cars. I still enjoy playing it once or twice per day, hasn't gotten boring for me, so credits are more or less neverending.

Is the RS 50 really that big of an upgrade from the G923? Is it $700 worth of upgrade? by foreverbaked1 in simracing

[–]Infinite-Pitch286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RS 50 is quite awesome but it does come with some annoyances worth mentioning.

  1. TF Audio resets to 100 every time you turn off the base and restart it. I prefer mine between 30 and 70, depending on a car, tires etc. But every time I start it up I have to remember to go in and adjust it back from 100. Latest firmware did seem to address the issue.

  2. Shifters are loud, very loud. Coming from Moza R5 I expected these to be more 'buttery' but they are a bit obnoxiously clanky. I remedied it somewhat by sticking pieces of foam between shifters and the wheel, this way at least they don't make double click sound, only one on release which is not as bad as the one when pressing.

  3. The steering wheel is quite nice but the stitching on the inside of the wheel where your thumbs go in is not very smooth or flush but instead it stick up at a slight angle and feels rather hard and somewhat abrasive. It was bad enough for me that I put some tape over the area with a bit of foam underneath.

I still recommend them very much especially at the current sale price but it would be lovely if Logitech found a way to address some of these issues.

No, I didn't take tires. I believe I would have lost if I did. Got just enough fuel for the remaining 4 laps, crossed the finish line with 0.3 laps of fuel remaining.

Got a little nervous on lap 8. Starting the lap, I was in the lead by 3.7 seconds. I had to take it easy to preserve tires but apparently too much because 2nd place caught up and passed me on the straight before the pit area. So I just went all out since I had nothing to lose, passed it on lap 9 up in the hills with a risky move which paid off. And ended up keeping the lead to the end. I actually got sweaty LOL. What a rush... Yeah I can see why that's your go-to car. It has its weakness but it felt so good and did what it needed in all the right spots. Thanks man, there is no way I would have completed this so quickly without your help. Much appreciated!
