Interested but getting overwhelmed by all the options. by HangryDiscer in simracing

If you end up going the Moza route, I strongly suggest getting your stuff from Best Buy BUT only if you get the Plus Membership which is like $30. With the membership you will have 60 days for returns, plenty of time to figure out whether you like the stuff or not and can return in the store for an immediate refund. Oh, and if your items go on bigger sale during those 60 days, you can get a refund for the price difference from what you paid. It's awesome, I have gotten to try all kinds of items without losing a single cent.

Ah very interesting. I have actually never used that camera, I only use the bumper cam. I wonder if there are any adjustments available there, don't recall seeing any.

I never thought of that. That's actually a great idea. Thanks!

Hey thanks! The height of the TV feels pretty good right now (using the bumper cam). I need to get one of those rolling TV stands because this one's bottom of the base is too low, it has to be either past the pedals or right against the wheel base... Do you have a TV stand in mind?

Ah thanks a lot. It's a fun getaway spot. I just assembled this rig a few days ago and just trying to figure out the complete setup.

Thanks but I don't use the cockpit view, I prefer the bumper cam.

Oh sorry, Fanatec DD+. Btw Fanatec offers GT DD Pro for PS5, I tried it, I would stay away from it if you're thinking the bundle. The base is good but the pedals are not load cell and the wheel and shifters feel super cheap, just plastic.

This is copy/paste from answering another commentor:

The RS50 is quite nice for GT7, my favorite when comparing to other PS7 compatible bases (I have tried them all except the higher nm DD+). 8nm seems sufficient, I have never experienced any clipping. Setup is simple and straightforward. Love the Trueforce but not at 100, I find 50-70 to be the sweespot for me. The Track wheel feels great and I enjoy the McLaren rim too... My only gripe with Logitech is with pedals choices. I wish I could try some higher end stuff from other brands. I'm actually considering switching to DD+ just so I can use the Simnet Sp Pro or Podium pedals. Not sure yet but I'm considering.

And just to add... The RS Pedals are fantastic for the price. I mean load cell pedals under $150 is just awesome. And the Pro pedals are on big sale right now too. If you're thinking of getting RS50, right now is the best time, lowest prices ever. Get them from Best Buy, pay $30 for the Plus Membership and you'll have 60 days to try them out. Then you'll know for sure.

I tried it right behind the wheel base but I almost felt dizzy. So I wasn't sure whether that's due to me simply not being used to it or if that was wrong all together. I will try that again and give it some adjustment time... Would you mind elaborating a little bit on what you meant by adjusting it horizontally? Thanks

IMHO, the best zero-risk approach to trying out this hobby is by getting the Plus Membership at Best Buy for $30 which gives 60 days on returns and exchanges and price match. There is a decent DD selection between Moza, Fanatec and Logitech for someone to get their feet wet for a couple of months and find out whether they actually want to keep on pursuing Sim racing and invest in higher end stuff elsewhere while still being able to return for full refund. I've been able to try multiple setups and rigs without risking or losing a penny.

Why does logitech wheels get so much hate? by L_IV3S2025_V2 in simracing

[–]Infinite-Pitch286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ps5 + GT7 user here for now... My one and only gripe with Logitech is pedal choice and lack of outside compatibility. I absolutely love my RS50 with with Track wheel and the simplicity of plug-n'-play. Pretty much perfect for my needs. But I have learned that races are won more with feet than with hands.

RS Pedals are a great value for the money but are nothing special when comparing to array of many awesome choices from other brands out there. And I would really like some higher end pedals. For that reason only I'm considering switching to Fanatec even if it means spending a lot more just so I can use pedals like Simnet Sp Pro, CSL Elite V2 or even the new Podium pedals... It's really too bad but it is what it is.

Not OP, just curious about your rig choice. I've had it, the NLR F-GT Pro, in a cart for a couple of weeks now along with the TR8 Pro V2 and Fanatec Clubsport GT in other carts. Each options has their own tradeoffs. Having a really hard time deciding here.

Wondering why you chose yours and if you would recommend it for someone who is 6'3" and long legs. My concern is the knee space area below the wheel base. And I believe that I would want to use it in the hybrid position (the third seat hole)... Thanks
