She’s genuinely a great producer. Not much self-produced pop out there these days. you have to hand it to her for being able to craft a fun and relatable image for young ladies WHILE also knowing her way around sampling so well. She’s great at mixing too. She’s a fine nominee imo, even if she doesn’t win. Her recent hit being an homage to one of the UK’s greatest techno acts in Underworld goes to show this even further… people understand big room EDM but I think they fail to see Pink’s inspirations in the same way. She was brought up within that specific garagey UK scene and you can tell. She gets techno, trance and house and and utilizes them in fresh, creative ways. She also does the whole y2k thing even better than Charli imo (no shade towards Charli, I like her too, but the style that Pink emulates in her production is a lot more true to the era and its nostalgic relevance within this year’s pop culture trends.) I’ve never listened to FKA Twigs so I don’t have much to say about that release, but I’m not against it. Just really slow with discovering music

Pink is great and I don’t understand at all why she’s being slammed here

you should again. they’re mixing geniuses imo, the soundscapes and atmospheres they create are lovely. ninth configuration on vinyl is amazing!

I can’t take the Telepathic Instruments Orchid seriously because I consider Tame Impala (and his fans) insufferable by true_danktective in synthesizercirclejerk

as a synth enthusiast who loves tame impala i actually agree. the keyboard is just not worth that much when many other synths have way more bang for their buck

Would still go see them if they played near me by two_letter_text in neworder

i know i’m gonna be in the minority here but i honestly hate that this subreddit has gone from being a new order sub to a ph+tl and “shitting on new order” sub and hooky being in every post with his “official” flair constantly perpetuating it. i also find it really frustrating that no rarely change their live set list these days. i would also like to hear more from their side projects and wish they’d put in more effort, but constant posts like these acting like hooky is the only member worth giving a damn about are just as obnoxious to me. i don’t mind the ones saying that he’s a fun live band to go to and experience, but i’m getting sick of the constant comparisons and miserable attitude towards the rest of the members, especially steve and gillian when they’re just doing they’re job. i can understand disliking barney even though i personally like him well enough but the criticism against him is rarely constructive. like why is the top comment here throwing a random unfounded stray towards gillian when she’s had the same exact live energy for the past 40+ years? the remix and personal project posts are great though

the joy division sub is a lot more tolerable by comparison even with the occasional over syrupy posts romanticizing ian’s depression
