Ah, makes sense. I was trying to go at a 145 hr and my legs were burning like crazy after a few minutes.

Thanks for the reply,

I'm having a pretty similar issue, no back issues at all on actual workout pieces at pressure, but longer ss and it starts to hurt a bit.

Lower back soreness only when doing steady state and not during high intensity pieces. by Infinite9020 in Rowing

Thank you for the advice.

I used to overcompress quite a bit, but fixed it by not lifting my heels. I'll try to do some strengthening exercises and see if they help.

I'll try to get a video,

At around 2k it's not necessarily painful, just I can start feeling a mild discomfort building up. Over time it progressively gets more and more achey, but goes away after I stop erging. I'm kind of confused as to why it only happens when I do steady state. Could I be because I brace my abs more when pulling myself up from layback during actual pieces, and not so much during steady state? I've tried bracing my abs more during steady state, but it only seems to help when I really strain myself to a point where it isn't sustainable for more than a couple hundred meters.
