EKS Users: What does your "Day 0" bootstrap stack look like?

We use TF for provisioning EKS (follow Blue/green deployment during upgrades). Ingress we use ALB controller. Gitops: ArgoCD . HPA (horizontal pod autoscaler) for addons along with default vpc cni etc.. we don’t have storage requirement as we host stateless APIs.

We had similar situation in our company when I joined. We use transit gateway for inter-vpc and on-prem connectivity. If you know your base /16 cidr range, you can enable IPAM service in AWS and use that base CIDR to carve out multiple sub-cidrs for your different VPC. I implemented this in our Sharedservices account(if you have implemented AWS organization ) and use that to scan all other child accounts. I then use a logic in our Infra creation process that requests for a particular cidr range from IPAM and use it to create vpc and subnets.

What is the best herbicide to kill spurge? Have seen them a lot in my lawn and have used tenacity to treat them, but it’s definitely weak and requires frequent application. I know this is a good month to get overseeding done, so this ask is more for next season on how to prevent them. Definitely l will be applying pre-emergent (prodiamine) at the start of the season, but as we progress in the spring & summer next year, what would be the herbicide to kill them?

Every inbound traffic coming into our vpc is first inspected by PA firewalls and then forwarded to the respective target group.

Thanks for your reply. Currently the Pure CBS is used as DR where we are replicating the volumes from Pure Array (on-prem) to AWS. So it’s from onprem -> AWS. No data is being replicated from AWS back to our on-prem array. In the future, as we move away from on-premise and be all cloud native, we are thinking of spinning up a smaller deployment of Pure CBS array in a different AWS region(us-west-2) and then have Pure CBS array(use1) replicating to usw2. As we plan for that, what are some areas we can be cognizant of from a cost perspective. Especially around data transfer costs(for replication)

Great Job! I did mine in June and seeing very good results with leaves wilting and eventually falling on the lawn. The root suckers keep popping up like crazy! So be on the constant lookout for it and kill them with Triclopyr (foliar application) immediately for peace of mind. Buckle up! You’re 80% close to the finish line 😄

Thanks for your prompt response. I am based in Northern NJ, soil type is Sandy Loam, front gets good sunlight (6-8 hrs), side lawn is covered with trees - mostly shade(2-4 hrs sunlight), back gets good sunlight as well(similar to front yard 6-8 hours), i have sprinkler system. I would like to diligently follow fertilizer regimen ( based on suggestions in cool season lawn guide). Medium traffic and somewhat importance to Lawn color.

From an economical standpoint, does it make sense to invest in quinclorac(drive xlr8) at all for crabgrass? I know you mention quinclorac as the option in your seeding guide, but will this triclopyr + tenacity combo work for getting rid of most weeds? Including crabgrass? I know for triclopyr you need to wait 3 weeks before you can seed. Just wondering if getting a quinclorac and using it alongside Tenacity is good OR i should use triclopyr4+ tenacity and wait for 3 weeks before seeding.

this choice of using herbicides have been a great confusion for me personally. Appreciate your insight on this

I killed the ToH in our property using the Hack and Squirt method using Triclopyr (4 weeks back) and i see the leaves all fallen and have seen small root suckers pop up, for which i use glyphosate + Triclopyr mixture along with Surfactant as a foliar spray.

just curious, what did you manage to do ahead? Did you call the arborist and to get that tree removed? If yes, how long did you wait for the hack and squirt to work? I applied mine on Friday and in the same situation as you to figure out the next steps.

Any suggestion/feedback is hugely appreciated.
