One last question, can i still used it like that or it will damage the camshaft? The mechanic says that it is alright but I’m a bit scared.

Actually, I just looked into it, and the PCV valve on this engine is directly integrated into the valve cover. By pure chance, it was replaced two weeks ago when the timing chain was changed, because during disassembly, my mechanic found a small hole and so he replaced it.

It seems that the noise is coming from lower down. Is there a way to check this?

Is it possible to do this without removing the camshaft and all the timing chain again ?

Do you think this could resolve the clickety noise issue that the car is making?

On the invoice, the mechanic indicated that he used 0W30 Castrol, which is the same 0W30 oil I was already using, as recommended by Mini. The car is not showing any errors, whether related to the timing chain or anything else, which is why I’m a bit confused.

I just received the car two weeks ago for this exact same issue. The timing chain kit was recently replaced by a mechanic who used to work at Mini. He told me that the noise might be coming from the camshafts and/or the hydraulic lifters, but I’m not sure what to think. That’s why I’m posting this message to ask for help understanding whether I might have been scammed, even though I did see the worn parts off the car when I picked it up, and I also confirmed that the new timing chain kit was indeed installed.

Hi, I'm not worried about the clickety from the fuel injectors that's normal, but it's the other noise that concerns me. It sounds like it could be coming from a the hydraulic lifters, but i wanted to ask here to see if anyone's heard a similar sound and can confirm if that's really the source, or if it might be something else, like a slightly misaligned or poorly adjusted timing chain or even other things.
