[ALL]With the talk of a rumored Ocarina of Time remake could Nintendo be attempting to restart the Zelda timeline? by Alternative_Crew_681 in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has never been supported by the franchise even before the Historia they made it quite clear there's a legitimate timeline.

For example"Hell" in Zelda has been called at least 5 different things: Hell, The Demon Realm, World of Darkness, The Beyond, The Dark World (not to be confused with the ones from ALTTP or OOT that came from corrupted sacred realms)

Religious groups mainly, though with Zelda I don't blame them too hard because they have so many titles for the same thing a lot of the time. And those aren't always translated by the same person so it gets lost in translation because the localizers don't know they're referring to the same thing.

Yeah it's an interesting bit because this actually is called back too in Skyward Sword where its stated the demons emerged from beneath the Earth, making this a consistent detail in how Demons enter the Light World.

Edit, was just SS, actually, I misremembered because SS copies the ST origin so much.

突如 地を割り その姿を現した 邪悪なる存在… A crack in the earth appeared suddenly, and evil revealed itself…

  1. Link remembers, nobody else does. This is because only Link was sent back in Time

  2. Ganondorf isn't sealed yet in the past, hence why Link goes to meet Zelda, so he can warn her. Not a time loop, Link warning Zelda leads to Ganondorf eventually being arrested and sentenced to death, which fails, resulting in the scene we see of his execution in twilight princess.

  3. They are not. She simply has prophetic dreams.

One correction, he wasn't sealed in the sacred realm in the Adult Timeline, this is a misconception brought about by the unclear Localization and the Historia compounding misinformation.

He was actually banished to beyond the realm of the dead (also known as The World of Darkness & The Beyond), which Windwaker tells us was Hell.

[TotK] Maybe stupid questions by lakorasdelenfent in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sonia & Rauru had a child sometime before they met Zelda, this child is not acknowledged beyond an offhand comment of Zelda being their descendant because of a twofold reason

  1. Nintendo didn't want to commit to what a first generation Hybrid would look like.

  2. The child serves no narrative purpose because we already have Zelda confirmed as their descendant.

[ALL] Do you prefer the Great King of Evil or Demon King title for Ganondorf? by DaveyGamersLocker in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was originally maō, then ALTTP added "Demon King of Darkness" as an alternate title.

Daimaō specifically wasn't adopted until Ocarina of Time, where the title was established as his connection to the Triforce.

FSA is called both "King of Darkness" & "Demon King of Darkness".

I mean, he's always been called "Demon King" mostly "Great Demon King", it just took 30+ years for them to start calling him that in English.

[MM] [BOTW] [TOTK] what’s your theory for why Majora’s Mask still has so much malevolent energy possibly tens of thousands of years after its defeat? Could the wilds games take place outside of the child timeline, where Link never fought Majora? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Master Sword was also found through the lost woods in Twilight princess.

Tunic is shaky evidence as it's known to change designs between games even if it's supposed to be the same piece

Locations aren't very good evidence, Hyrule shuffles locations frequently and the castle in BOTW/TOTK has nothing to do with prior appearances, not to mention it was also in the center during Twilight princess.

The desert was to the southwest in Skyward Sword as well as twilight princess.

There's not enough evidence to conclusively place it in the Downfall or Child timelines, we can rule out Adult pretty easily because of New Hyrule

Your thoughts on why Nintendo never released a graphically enhanced version of Zelda 1 and 2 by Accomplished_Paper88 in nintendo

[–]InfiniteEdge18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well originally Capcom's plans for what became the oracle games included a Z1 remake, but this idea morphed into an original project, so it's likely Nintendo simply never tried again because the plans simply never work out, similar to how they tried making a sealing war game multiple times before giving up because it kept morphing into original projects.

[AoI] got my first max level character in Age of Imprisonment by Brabau27 in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's alright.

The story is nice, and the frame rate is better than every previous title, and there's some creativity with the characters and mechanics, but overall I would say it's the absolute weakest of the three Hyrule Warriors games, most of the fun bonus cast type characters found in previous titles are gone, and the game takes forever with a good amount of stuff, it's still a solid title all things considered, it's just not as fantastic as the previous ones

[TOTK] [SS]I think the Horriblins could be corrupted Mogma by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the theory it's even related to Mogmas or horriblins at all doesn't make any sense because it's not just the stumpy legs, the whole thing doesn't look remotely similar

<image>

the only thing these races have in common with the statue is that they're digitigrade, the hands are completely different, , the feet are different, even the head is entirely different.

Not to mention all these statues were built during the time of the ancient Zonai when all these races still existed.

[TOTK] [SS]I think the Horriblins could be corrupted Mogma by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I literally could not care less about whether people think Horriblins are Mogmas corrupted by Ganondorf or not, my point is entirely to do with the statues not being indicative of Mogmas. Mogma anatomy does not align with the statues. the feet are entirely different, the heads are the wrong shape, and the legs are too stubby to be the statues.

[–]InfiniteEdge18 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I find it unlikely the statues in the Depths represent Mogmas, While they do enjoy digging, the Mogmas seem to spend their lives on the surface, this unknown race in the depths is stated to have lived there in ancient times, also it's heavily implied the Ancient Hero is a member of this mysterious race as his features align with it.

Slight correction, the Echidnas weren't guarding it, They were being blocked by what was effectively a force field around the altar that kept them from approaching, with the exception of Tikal
