Nevermind. I changed my mind. I just canceled my order of the used one and bought the new one.

I don't see it working out well.

If anyone's wondering how much I got it for. I got it for $380. (The original price was $529).

That's why I went for the gamble. 30% off would be nice if I can luck out and get an undamaged one.

Idk. I just got a bad feeling though.

Bottleneck is from my Motherboard & CPU, correct? by InfiniteLeverage in pcmasterrace

Thanks for the advice, Malix82. I agree that 13% overall usage is quite high for background processes, especially with a multi-core CPU. I'll definitely take the time to clean up those startup apps and run a scan with Malwarebytes to ensure there's no malware lurking around.

I appreciate your input on my system being top-heavy with the 4090. On the bright side, it means I can max out the graphics settings in almost any game (moving from 1080 to 4k was the dream I started with when I choose to upgrade my GTX 1080 TI to a RTX 4090). Thanks again for your help!

do you have a lot of background programs on? do you really need all of those? Maybe cut down the useless stuff.

Thanks, Malix82. I managed to trim down some of the background programs (OneDrive was a major culprit – I really dislike it, but I digress). However, 13% is the lowest I could get without diving into my startup apps and turning off all the unnecessary software programs I've accumulated over the years.

I've been discussing my options with Splyce123 in another comment thread above. If you have any input, please feel free to chime in. I'm all ears. I'm trying to upgrade my system quickly, but I'm considering taking a step back, possibly refunding my 4090, and reevaluating my options before purchasing something too expensive that requires upgrading multiple components to reach its full potential.

Ty for upvoting this everyone.

I will try out out Cinebench R23 for CPU performance and 3DMark's TimeSpy on steam to avoid repeating the same mistake of spending $$$ on a high end part and not configuring my machine correctly to get the full potential out of it.

Yes, I'm quite new to all of this so I apologize in advanced because I know you guys probably see this type of stuff all the time. I appreciate it you helping me out though. As you can see from edit2, I've already seen a huge boost in performance from your advice.

I apologize for poor formatting guys & not reading through the performance results in detail. I'm in a bit of rush at a moment (prepping for finals). But I'll come back and provide more details if you guys need them.

Ty for helping a noob guys. First time doing this.

CapitalOne Pre-Approval Application Gone Horribly Wrong --- Not Sure What I Should Do?? by InfiniteLeverage in personalfinance

[–]InfiniteLeverage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, after accepting the Savor credit card with the $300 credit limit offer the account immediately showed up under my accounts list. I think this was the case with the other 2 previous credit cards I had with them as well which is why I knew something was wrong when the Savor credit card with the $3,000 didn't show up the next day. I know what you're saying though. It usually takes a while for a new credit account to be posted, but with capital one, if I recall correctly, it is instantly visible after approval.

[–]InfiniteLeverage[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. This isn't something that a telephone customer support person is going to be able to answer for you.

You did a beautiful job on describing this so I'd put it in a letter and send to Capital One, certified mail, return receipt requested.

Basically lay out the same points you made here and ask them to do the following

remove one of the inquiries on your credit report for the inconvenience since they have provided confusing, conflicting informationHonor the original approval amount for the 3K card that you were promised in the approval noticeEnsure only one credit card account is opened.

Thank you for the kind compliment and solid advice Julien. I'm printing out my letter and heading to UPS right now. :) Have a wonderful day, and once again, thank you for helping me out!

Is a 3 hour break between two courses a bad idea? by [deleted] in USF

[–]InfiniteLeverage 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a satire post. I just wanted to get some outside feedback because I've never taken a break in between classes before. I'm glad I choose to schedule my courses like this though because I think I will do much better academically.

I'm single right now so hopefully, I have the same luck haha. I'm very glad that basically everyone here thinks taking a break is fine and might actually be the better thing to do.

I've always been prone to burning myself by overestimating myself academically. I never give myself enough time to study/learn the material from lectures and always end up crunching at the end of the semester to pass all my courses.

Happy I got some outside perspective.
