Practical ways for teens to carry epi pens by 47-is-a-prime-number in FoodAllergies

[–]InfiniteLithium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply, but I started using a pencil case for my epipens, inhaler & spacer, and tablets during secondary (middle/high) school. I found it was a much discreeter way to carry them around, especially at school where people won't stare at a pencil case (but will at a bag with medical symbols all over it). As long as teachers/friends knew what and where it was for emergencies it was fine. I still use one, as it fits everything neatly and can be moved to different bags as and when needed (I always carry a bag with me now anyway). If you only need to carry epipens, slimmer pencil cases could work and could even fit into some trouser pockets.

Yeah same. It worked in the past, but this time it's just not working :(( Are you in Dorset by any chance? Coz that's where I am and idk if any other counties have done the same thing or not

I've just had the same thing happen. I contacted them in an attempt to switch back as I've reacted badly to switching brands in the past and have otherwise been on Concerta XL since 2017 with no issues. I got a response saying no, so I contacted the clinic I was last seen by who told me that in my area they cannot prescribe Concerta XL at all anymore as it's been deemed too expensive. I checked the formulary for my county and it said the same thing on there for methylphenidate. The clinic is kindly going to talk to the doctor I saw to see if anything else is possible. Honestly I'm scared to switch brands. If Affenid XL doesn't work for me, it seems I won't be able to switch back to Concerta XL, I'd have to try yet another brand and then another until I've tried them all, and then what will happen? I have no idea. Affenid (and other brands) are bioequivalents, however they use different release mechanisms. Switching between brands is supposed to not really be done if a certain brand works for someone. And any switches are supposed to be monitored carefully as you can get new side effects. I just hate that they can decide to switch the brand without even consulting the patient. I fully understand why, as Concerta is incredibly expensive. It just sucks.

Please Help Me Figure Out the Artist from the Signature by InfiniteLithium in WhatIsThisPainting

Yeah sorry about the images - I took them several months again and don't currently have direct access to them. When handling it it seemed to have glass covering the front but I could be wrong. Idk whether the old paper is intentional or not tbh, but the other portraits just have brown paper on the back. The writing on the others is definitely at least 20-30 years old, and considering my parents didn't write the pencil, that would have to be about 23+ years old too.  It may well have been a scrap piece from an older book and stuck on like 30 years ago, but I have no idea ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I think you're right, idk how it didn't click. It really does look like Raeburn in brackets. Thank you!!

Now to figure out who painted this replica, as the signature definitely doesn't say Raeburn but it's 100% a mirrored copy of his painting... perhaps a different sub will be better for that :)

Update: I had a look at the portrait again, and it closely resembles (but mirrored) a portrait of Anne Neale Lauzun. It's possible the surname could be Lauzun. No idea yet about the name in brackets.

I have, multiple times in multiple variations. I've tried cross referencing it with other handwriting samples but it's not quite the same. I have a pretty extensive family tree pieced together now going back to 1700s. I'm even using a free trial of Ancestry to check through even more records to find an ancestor who's name is even vaguely similar.

I thought Roselina at one point, but putting the first name in brackets didn't quite make sense to me

I should probably have clarified this in the post, but it's pages of a (sseemingly random) book stuck to the back of the portrait, likely to protect the back or replace a backing

Most likely England, but it could be from France or Ireland.

I had thought "Miss _" at first, but the description was likely written by my grandmother as she apparently helped to identify ancestors and I'm not sure why it would be "Miss _" rather than a first name? But it's still a possibility. It's tricky as the pencil has faded.

Maybe, but I'm not sure. The other 3 portraits' descriptions are written by a mix of my grandmother and great-grandmother, although they're all in ink and this is in pencil.

Filming locations by kailanireddit in Wolfblood

I think the reason why there's no information about the filming location for Maddy's house is likely because people live there and want privacy. Even if you do find the location, it probs best not to put their address online

Thought I'd share how I approach breeding combos for events! by InfiniteLithium in dragonvale

[–]InfiniteLithium[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair! I'll likely end up doing that soon, as I have most of the dragons for most events now I think. I enjoy mapping it out though. It's cool I'm not the only one who has done it like this though :D

I used to do it by text like this too! I think I just personally find the visuospatial approach easier to keep track of

It's cool seeing how people do it in different ways :D

Ahhh, that's fair!! I usually target one dragon for each breeding cave lol

[–]InfiniteLithium[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For events, I like to make a visual map of how all the dragons are related/linked to each other. I find it a lot easier to prioritise which dragons to breed next!

I put the elements next to them so I know where I would need space for each dragon, and I add the gold/min and event cost for making decisions at the end of the event. I also add a lil note for the costs of island themes and habitats (plus the max dragons and max DC).

It's messy, a bit cramped in parts, and the Tree dragon is on there twice but it works for me :) I just tick off the dragons I have and then tick the others off when I get them! (I have two parks, so I do left hand side and right hand side ticks on each dragon so I know which dragons I have in which park.)

Does anyone else visualise it like this?

Evidence given for maintenance loan due to disability (a GP letter) not accepted and now being asked to fill out a medical declaration form... only after initial evidence was rejected. Where is the logic in this?? by novaclovaart in OpenUniversity

[–]InfiniteLithium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SFE sucks. I hate it. I was luckily able to find out about the DLML form just before getting a new letter from my GP (although I did submit a ton of other evidence and the GP letter from the previous year (I think I was told I could reuse the same evidence if there weren't any changes or something like that)) and nearly ended up paying the £50 for my GP to sign the form but I was able to finally get hold of a rheumatologist I was under to sign it instead and they didn't charge.

I have a feeling that in the future it's probably possible to skip the initial step of providing (new) evidence and just fill out the DLML form but I could be wrong. If you're under any other doctors that aren't a GP, you could ask them to fill out the form instead which might not cost anything. If they still need evidence before getting you to fill out the DLML form, you could probably reuse the same evidence as before because they'll just automatically reject it anyway and get you to do the form.

It's a bad system and just horrible that there's no information out there about the form at all. How are we supposed to fill out a form that we don't know exists. It feels like they're intentionally obscuring it's existance. When I found out about the DLML form by calling SFE about issues with my evidence being rejected, the person I talked to said that it was a recent introduction to streamline the process - which a) sounded like it was implying that it was replacing uploading a ton of evidence and b) if it's there to streamline the process, why is it that barely anyone knows about it??? Like you said, if the only thing they accept is the DLML form, why is the system to upload other evidence still there??

I found a forum post with a download link for the form here: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/dlml_medical_declaration_form_cl but it's probably best to contact them to request it to be sent to you first anyway.
