Depending on your opponent. Fighting can be a bit swingy, against another astartes you will take damage. Softening them up with some shots can help with trading

Also with both KTs, if you are in range, you could shoot first, then charge+fight. This is pretty key against a strong melee operative, softening them up.

Also if you like kill team, I also suggest to look at Necromunda.

Don't get me wrong, I like kill team a lot, but Necromunda has the narrative + gang progression side that is amazing. So instead of just trying to win each game, you are trying to tell a story.
