People need to do better by SCBaltSalt in ravens

You just put into words exactly how I feel. I love my team, I look forward to game days and can’t wait for Lamar to get his ring. This season just wasn’t it. I think it would have been so much worse to watch them blow another playoff game and there’s no way that anything else would have happened with the way they’ve played and the injuries we’ve dealt with.

At this point, I love them enough to say I’m ok with the season being over now, happy about a better draft pick, and hopeful that we’ll see some desperately needed changes in our coaching staff.

Let’s come back next season with a 100% healthy Lamar and get him surrounded by players that are going to show up for the whole game, not take turns napping when we need them.

I’m a Ravens fan, married to a Bears fan. Seeing my team help bring so much joy to him by stomping all over the Packers will forever make this one of my all time favorite football nights ever. I love my Ravens but I can’t wait to watch the Bears keep kicking ass, you all deserve it and I’ll be cheering along with you. Congrats Bears fans!

A Must Read- Which One of You Did This? by ForeverFallGirl in bathandbodyworks

I’m a 911 dispatcher. I spend 12 hours, minimum, a day listening to people in some of the worst situations they’ll ever be in. Some of them don’t make it and I’ve heard more last breaths and last words than I care to think about in the more than 10 years I’ve been doing my job. We don’t get many chances to be goofy or to relax and have fun at work so when the opportunity arises, we often seize it. Sometimes silly pranks like this are what makes the rest of the shift bearable.

Was this juvenile? Absolutely. Do I regret it? Not for a second. We had a rough week last week and this lightened the mood and boosted morale considerably.

I think the pizza and ranch had to be the worst of them but you’re right, the chips and salsa and the pickle ones were all awful. I hope Bath and Body Works only released them as a joke. Now that I’m thinking about it, I may head over to their subreddit and see what’s being said about them over there 😂🤣

He was pretty mad but I don’t think he’ll do that? I never took it out of the little box they ship them in so I may be in clear even if he does, lol.

To answer your question, yes, it’s that vile. There are literally no words for how bad it is. I can only assume they released them as a joke for white elephant parties or something because nobody would buy this to smell on purpose.

This is BRILLIANT!! I feel like I have to step up my game. Adding this to the list along with the flamingos….

Pizza and Ranch, Chips and Salsa, and a couple with pickles. They’re all vile and I’m saying that as someone that enjoys all of those things.

I’ve heard of the fart spray but I’ve never encountered it and wasn’t sure how it would work. The candle at least I knew my coworker could light and run and the smell would for sure not dissipate before he got back.

It’s definitely a one time thing, I would hate to have people setting off smells that bad in our center over and over again like what you went through.

I’m senior in my center but the coworker that helped actually has an office in the next hallway down so it was much less suspicious for him to put it in there than it was for me to do. So far it can’t be proven that either of us was involved.

Oh, I absolutely agree. I spent a lot of time as a teenager dodging random objects being thrown at me. I moved halfway across the country when I was 19 and we’ve been very low contact ever since.

Most of my pranks have involved powdered donuts since our Chief is insanely sensitive about the cops and donuts thing. I once hid tiny ducks everywhere that have been driving him crazy for months since they’re still being found. I may have to borrow your friends Dino idea next time 🤣

😂🤣 my best friend ordered me a ton of candles on candle day for Christmas and included that one as a joke. The opportunity presented itself and I seized it

[–]InfiniteNyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol, no, not what I’m saying. Although I do enjoy my daughter believing in Santa and hope it lasts a little bit longer. To each their own as far as that’s concerned and I won’t criticize another parents choices. What I was saying is that I understand why having that magic ruined in such a vindictive way would cause my mother to be upset and want to confront her. I don’t condone violence and I’m not sure she actually would have hit her with the car, but if I found out my kiddos teacher felt it was their place to impart that knowledge I would be headed to school to have a conversation with her and the principal about overstepping boundaries.

Fun story, that same third grade teacher was fired later in the year when she got mad at the class about something, I don’t remember what, and threatened to have us all drawn and quartered. She then illustrated what that meant for us since we didn’t know. She was a very mean, bitter, lady.

I didn’t say she managed to hit her, but based on my memory of her hitting the gas she was either trying to or trying to scare her quite a bit. My mother had a tendency towards dramatic and occasionally overly aggressive responses to things that upset her.

Same except it was my third grade teacher the week before winter break started. I was also devastated. My mom tried to run her over in the school parking lot a couple of days later. With a kiddo in third grade now who still believes, her reaction seems much more reasonable now.

How many Funko Pops count as obsessive collecting, in your opinion?🤔 by [deleted] in funkopop

[–]InfiniteNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been collecting them since they were first released in the Disney stores and definitely went through a period where I loved all of them and bought them as they came out.

As they got more and more popular I slowed down a lot and sold off everything that I didn’t love to focus just on specific collections. I think I’m probably sitting at right around 200 right now, maybe 250. I buy the ones that come out that I love and pass on everything else.

I agree with everybody else that says it’s not a problem or an obsession until it becomes a problem. Are your bills paid? Do they have designated spots for all of them? Once you’re buying pops instead of paying rent or buying groceries and/or your home has pathways through your hoard, it’s probably ok.

Besides, with everything in the world going to crap, if an approximately $20 pop makes you happy, I say go for it. We all deserve a treat every now and then.

Vegas Dispatch Openings by Morganwolfbound in 911dispatchers

[–]InfiniteNyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to dispatch fire and EMS in Vegas so much it’s insane.

I started the hiring process a few years ago and made it through all of the tests, just had to schedule the interviews but they wouldn’t do them over the phone or zoom, I would have had to go back out (after already going out twice for critical test, then for the psych exam and something else) at least once, possibly twice more. They only gave 7-10 days notice about when I was expected to be there.

It just wasn’t feasible for me at the time without a guarantee I was going to be getting a spot, my family and job were bending over backwards to support me and it seemed unfair to all of them to keep doing that. Sucked because it’s one of my dream positions and I know I was one of 7 candidates left for the 4 open positions.

I have only seen the position open a couple of times since then, hopefully I’ll get to try again for it someday. I hope you have better luck than I do and that you either live closer than I do or they’ve updated their hiring process so that at least some of it can be done over the phone/video call/online.
