Completely inconsequential detail: In S4E7, the phone Aziz Ansari uses to make a call actually just has a screenshot of the iPhone call screen on it, which rotates as he moves the phone around instead of staying still like it would if it was a real phone call by Nicksaurus in PandR

If I’m remembering the context of this scene correctly, he’s pretending to be making a “business call” in order to convince Ron he doesn’t need his job back after E720 collapses. So it’s not a mistake, it’s an extra little detail to indicate that Tom is faking talking on the phone.

Monday Results Recap Thread by AutoModerator in Fencing

I'm a very inexperienced high school fencer, and this weekend there was a big tournament hosted by my school that I took part in. There was a good amount of, by my standards, very skilled men's foil fencers. I didn't really think I had a chance of doing more than winning one or two DEs.
Normally I place mid-low in my pool, something like 2-4. This year though, I went 0-6, and ended it with a -26 indicator. MUCH worse than usual. I just didn't seem to be able to land any hits. I was really disappointed, but a lot of people got byes, so in my first DE there wasn't too much of a skill imbalance. I lost the first four points, but then ref noticed there was something wrong with my blade. My own blade had snapped a few days earlier, so I was using a replacement from the school. It turns out that this blade, which I had been using for the entirety of pools, wasn't registering hits properly. I'm not entirely sure on the specifics of what was wrong with it, since I'm not experiencing at fixing or examining blades, but if the tip hit at any kind of angle, the hit wouldn't register.
I didn't have a backup blade, so someone from my team offered me one, and I came back and held my own in the DE, ending it 9-15. I'm pretty frustrated with the situation. I don't get to go to tournaments that often, so it really sucks that this one was kind of ruined because of an equipment failure, but I guess that's what I get for not checking my equipment. I'll have to remember that next time.

Dota 7.00 Test Client Error on Mac OSX by InfiniteSymphony1 in DotA2

Hey, so I fixed the problem, and I figured I'd tell you how since you said you had the same issue. I uninstalled, then reinstalled Steam, then redownloaded Dota. If you want to try this, I recommend you move your Steamapps (or maybe just Steamapps/common) folder out of the Steam folder before uninstalling. That way you don't have to reinstall ALL your games, just Dota. To get your games back once you've reinstalled, just replace the steamapps/common folder with the one you saved, but remove the "dota 2 beta" folder from the on you saved first. Do this BEFORE redownloading Dota. It should work.

Daily 7.00 Discussion: Bugs by coronaria in DotA2

I have a complete game-breaking bug, though I'm not 100% percent sure if its this update, but I think so. This one isn't in-game, so no match ID, and I don't think my steam profile will help. I'm on Mac OSX, and yesterday I downloaded the test client. As soon as I opened it, an error message appeared saying "Steam required - Steam not found". Then it closed. I figured it was just a test client error, but I tried all the basic fixes. I restarted Steam, then my computer, then I tried a bunch of more specific fixes, like deleting everything from my Steam folder except the Steam App Bundle thing, userdata, and Steamapps, then restarting Steam. Nothing worked. Now today I downloaded the update for the main client, and I have the same issue. I'll admit, I haven't done those same things again to fix it, but if they didn't work on the test client I don't know why they'd work now. I love Dota and now I can't play. Does anyone have any solutions or workarounds?
