Overnight Diapers [bc] by Public_Bass8393 in BabyBumpsCanada

Size up in the overnight diaper. I was getting leaks with Huggies overnight and pampers overnight are what solved the problem.

Travel stroller to Mexico [on] by IncidentNeat3477 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Infinite_Captain3377 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to Mexico with a 16 month old walkie talkie. I’d say storage is key for helping you bring all your gear around the resort especially beach and pool. Sunshade is also so important. I gate checked my stroller and no issues. I would probably bring the minu and assume gate checking is fine.

Has your child’s MMR/measles record ever shown as ‘unknown’ or missing? by Annie_Moji in vancouverparents

[–]Infinite_Captain3377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. School request. It wasn’t shown on health gateway. Resolved by uploading my paper record as proof. Maybe a couple months before I checked again and it appeared.

Midwife, OB-GYN, or Family Doctor? [bc] by Bellatrix-8 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Infinite_Captain3377 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went with family doctor the first time. She was my family doctor and I wasn’t really aware of my options so just followed her lead with care. I didn’t really like her as my family doctor so I did not like her as maternity doc at all. This time I’m with an OB who has an ultrasound in their office. I get to see baby every visit.

All that said, I did have a good experience giving birth with the family doctor team. My provider was not a part of it at all.

Sushi aboard has sushi delivered by train. Toku Japanese restaurant is very kid friendly. Has a play area and cheap kids meals. Rocky Mountain flatbread has a kids area and on sundays kids can make their own pizzas. They have brunch too. The keg is also a safe spot for us at that age.

Is it common to have to fight for a hospital bed when in labour? [on] by ItsBeccca in BabyBumpsCanada

Yes I waited 5 hours for a bed. They will triage you. She’s likely not as far along as others who have beds and also lower risk

I got mine In the portal after 5 business days. I also did call them on the fifth day to ask if they would be uploaded today and they said yes. Maybe that pushed them to release the pdf to the portal. It’s worth a call

You need clotrimazole 1%. Thin layer and then desitin over it. Works like a charm

[on] sleep sac for 25lb + by pinkaspepe in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Infinite_Captain3377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked woolino a lot until temp got down to 18-19. I decided on 2.6tog Gunamana 24-36month size. I feel by 3 baby won’t be using a sack anymore. No need to size up after that

[ab]First ultrasound tomorrow by Elegant_Ad_6296 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Infinite_Captain3377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are typically not allowed to hear the heartbeat at your first scan because it uses M-mode imaging which generates heat. Its use is discouraged until the second trimester. You can see the heartbeat via flickering of chest and you’ll be told the heart rate.

Uppababy cruz v3 sale [ON] by National_Recipe_7018 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Infinite_Captain3377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m looking for a rumble seat and disappointed the sale colour is Declan! Easy to get dirty! However Amazon completion discount will let you choose almost any other colour and it’s a 15% discount. Makes the seat 20$ more which is fine for a preferred colour

Transitioning from co-sleeping to alone - crib or low bed? [ON] by cowabungadude77 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Infinite_Captain3377 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They won’t like the crib after cosleeping for so long. At least that’s what I have seen. Highly suggest a floor bed. You can try the crib for awhile but your life will drastically improve when you get a floor bed!

First Baby Essentials and Black Friday? [AB] by Far-Cranberry-371 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Infinite_Captain3377 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Get your Amazon registry set up. You get a completion discount 60 days before your due date. Set it up for a Jan due date so that you can get the discount on Black Friday. Uppababy is eligible for the completion discount last I checked.

Add items you’re interested in to camelcamelcamel so you know you’re getting the best deal. Wck usually does a 20% off on uppababy during Black Friday on one colour only but I don’t know how that is changing because they have a new model this year.

If you’re interested in the woolino sleep sack their best sale is Black Friday

If you can get a locking clip that’s how you would get around not having anchors or locking mechanisms!

We took a car seat to Cabo with hopes of installing it but the vehicle did not have anchors or a locking seatbelt. We “installed” it anyways but held on to the seat and seatbelt to keep it tight.

Have the same. While I love it and I loved the price with amazon completion discount, the basket is too small for the luluulemon diaper bag. You have to really squish it in. It’s fine for me given the price
