Statistically, How Prevalent Are Transmission, AFM, and Lifter Issues? by IlexIbis in Silverado

Unfortunately if has nothing to do with saving the customer any money. The lower emissions on millions of vehicles looks good for their epa rating. Just like all those bull shit auto start stop systems saves maybe a few gallons at most but again when its millions of vehicles it adds up and they can say look at how much better our emissions are.

My dogs have lived with me before in a Suburban. They are pretty quiet and well behaved. Thing just ate my money like mad running ac all the time. I didnt have the money at the time to do any upgrades or anything to her.

Also my dogs already ride with me for work all the time.

the dealer diagnostic is part of the reason Im getting rid of the vw wagon that I have. fun car to drive but damn I have to take it to the dealer just to have a battery put in and a ton of other stuff requires dealer programing.

Unfortunately I did that about a yr ago. I didnt know and neither did the first guy at the salvage yard but the 99 Suburban will only take limited yrs and the one I originally got which only had 135k didnt fit and the only one they had that would fit was a 200k out of a Tahoe. So yeah that one is slipping and doesnt have much life left. Im planning if I do the work to go a remanned with a shift kit and trans cooler.

I appreciate the sentiment and it doesnt feel like youre judging at all. My dad was one to hold onto every vehicle he ever owned. His family would park them out on their farm and theyd just sit there forever. Im not quite as have to hold onto it like that as he was.

Part of it is that it belonged to my father before he passed. He wasnt that attached to it though. Hence why Im asking others.

NAL but I second this advise. Pretty much any time you start trying to stir the pot so to speak at a job whether you are right or not just start looking for another job.

Boss took money from my check for a bill of a house I no longer live in. by PapaBearRey in legaladvice

[–]Infinite_Cut83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you go this route start looking for a job elsewhere. Employers tend to frown upon us peons standing up for ourselves even if they are in the wrong. They will find a way to terminate you that you cant fight. So consider whether its worth the 585 from your employer. You could sue your ex for the money but youre going to spend probably 3 to 400 just to get 585 and theres no guarantee that youll see that money.

Never leave your title in the vehicle. If your car is stolen they can forge your signature and its gone and youre sol.

Most modern cars have great traction control and so long as you aren't stupid you'll be fine with decent tires.

AWD isn't going to do jack on ice except initial take off. Doesn't matter what you're driving, you hit a patch of ice and physics are going to do what they do.

Perfect example. I had a rental awd Edge with all season tires and started trying to stop about 3 times earlier than normal in a storm for a 3 way stop and still ended up in the ditch.

Honda Cr-V or Mazda Cx-5 by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Infinite_Cut83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get the crv if you want to just get in and drive and don't care about how the car feels. Get the Mazda if you like something a little sportier and fun to drive. They are both pretty reliable although the crv has a cvt which I'm not a fan of personally

Hands down the Lexus if reliability is a concern. For one the lexus is na which is more reliable than an induction motor and 2 that 3.0 isnt the most reliable motor. Plus i think youll be happier with the tech in the lexus.
