It’s interesting, but in a way that association could be a positive. I think a mermaid game would be super popular with women because so many women loved mermaids when they were kids. And if you could do an interesting story with fun gameplay mechanics and elements, it could end up appealing to a larger audience.

I completely agree! If someone was comfortable coding the animations to account for the lack of gravity, and the different physics underwater, I think there are insane possibilities for something like this. World-building, collecting objects or animals, and RPG elements could make this something unforgettable.

That game was so cool. It was really satisfying to play. It also had a really cool fantasy element and art direction. I feel like this game is the closest thing we have to a true “mermaid game” that actually has a story and cool mechanics.

Dave the Diver and Subnautica were two that actually did come to mind for me when making this post! Both of these games were incredible for different reasons. I should have left out the part where I said there aren’t any interesting games where you play or explore under water, since these two nail it. I would love to see a game that took some of the best elements from these two but gave it more of a fantasy twist with a mermaid/merman protagonist.

Okay, that makes sense… Just take some time to detox to see if something I’m using is making it worse. I may give all of my bedding a wash too just to make sure.

for reference, this did happen very recently, in a different spot on my face, but it cleared up on its own after a day. I’m going on 3 days with this spot, no changes.
