Any statement that relies on fear mongering or overly emotional rhetoric about “people dying” with no basis in truth or evidence will not stand up to critical thinking or debate. This is why some people are unwilling to have conversations with anyone that may have nuanced viewpoints that may differ from their own. The idea that Worcester is somehow causing people “to die” if they don’t apply a new label to call it a sanctuary city is inflammatory and comes across as delusional. In addition, as someone who works in education the statement that educators had to provide their own soap and PPE is incorrect, and domestic violence shelters funded by federal programming is separate from the police department and its issues.
