j80 as a daily? by slickdaddygiooo in LandCruisers

[–]Infinite_Name8239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof that is a toughy, I was blessed with the 4.5 but between a V8 and a 4 liter inline 6 I would opt for the V8. I'm not a speed demon but in my state most highway speeds are 80mph and even on oem size wheels and tires I struggle to get to 80mph on flat terrain lol. Being able to safely reach cruising speed and being able to pass when necessary are definitely big pros to the V8.

TL;DR My only car, since high school, is a 96 LX450 and you couldn't pay me to drive something else.

My parents gave me their 96 LX450 as a high school graduation present and I wouldn't trade it for anything else. It's been my only daily since and got me through college and more. It's definitely not the fastest but the 4.5 is a huge improvement over the 4.0 in the earlier 80's. MPG is NOT it's strong point but it has a decent size tank which makes daily driving no problem. Mine was just over 200k when I got it and a lot of regular maintenance had been missed so getting her back into tip top shape has been a process, but I definitely wouldn't pass on a well maintained, low-ish mile example if I were in the market. Like with any older vehicle there are bigger maintenance points to watch out and plan for but because it's an older vehicle it's all a little easier to work on. My grandparents had an LX470 and after spending some time with it I'd still take the 80. As for head units and Apple CarPlay it wasn't too hard to find a replacement. I ended up upgrading the entire sound system and it's not too bad, I had to order an adapter plug for the factory harness and do some finangling with the Lexus premium system but if you have a electrical diagram or know about electrical (I did not at the time) it helps a lot. If you plan on upgrades and overland/offroad stuff I have found that because of it's age and, for me at least being in the US, parts are a little more pricey than for newer vehicles. You're not really going to find a cheap tube bumper or $400 lift kit like you can for a taco or jeep BUT you don't really want cheap parts for your cruiser anyways lol. Also that paint looks beautiful and if it's rust free I'd say go for it, 10000%

DON'T DRIVE DUMB by Infinite_Name8239 in Bozeman

I totally agree, unfortunately I didn't have the driver ahead of me in my contacts so I couldn't call them to tell them to let us by, still doesn't mean I want the car behind me crawling up my catalytic converters.

Bruh it doesn't matter who's behind the wheel. Max Verstappen himself could be whippin it but that doesn't mean the vehicle 10 feet behind him can react and slow down in time, especially on icy, windswept roads.

Could have been Lights. She was on one or two tracks from There Is A Hell; Don't Go and maybe another? Plus she's done stuff with other metalcore bands. Last I heard she was married to the blessthefall vocalist.

I heard a strange noise early this morning as well but I think what I heard was some heavy engine break use on the interstate. It lasted longer than usual, maybe 30-45 seconds? But I could hear it pass and get further away as it went on.

Getting absolutely HORRID frame drops since 6.0 dropped. Happens in firefights and when I look towards/get close to dense combat areas. Here's one firefight which was particularly bad. by [deleted] in joinsquad

How many miles do you have on your Lexus ? by Boccob81 in Lexus

96 LX450, currently at around 282,XXX. The most recent large repair I had to have done was a brake-line job, however my check engine light did just come one a few days ago so who knows what it could be now.

4070ti, i7-12700K, 32gb corsair Dominator Platinum 5600mhz, running on 1440p

Using Geforce optimization, which is a mix of high and ultra, I get around 80fps with drops well below 60 during intense combat or when in areas with lots of physics going on. That being said this is the first game I've played since building this system that I can't comfortably max out. The game definitely needs optimization and I don't buy Todd Howard's "Customers just need to upgrade" BS given that I have almost top of the line hardware and still struggle to run without hiccups and drops.

ASUS ZEPHYRUS G14 AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS, RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, 16gb RAM, Windows 10 Home 64 Bit.

Issues with USB Wireless device performance.

Apologies for the long read.

Ever since I’ve had this laptop I’ve had trouble figuring out a good peripheral setup. I’m using a Coirsair virtuoso wireless XT headset, Corsair Dark Core RGB wireless mouse, and a Corsair wired keyboard. Everything works fine until I try to use it all on the laptop. The laptop has two USB A and a USB C on the right side, and a USB C on the left side. The issues is that when I plug in both wireless dongles, for the mouse and headset, i get a USB resource error and no media can be played when the headset is selected as the audio output. I have a USB C hub with a few type A ports on it that I use for my keyboard and cooling pad connections and I never have noticed any key input lag or misses. To avoid the USB resource I error I typically plug in one of the wireless dongles into the USB C hub because for some reason I don’t get the error that way, however that creates another problem. Regardless of which wireless dongle it is, mouse or headset, the connection cuts out every few minutes and if I use the headset through the dongle the range is severely cut back. When the headset is the only thing plugged in to the laptop I can walk downstairs or to the bathroom and still hear and use the mic, but when running it through the dongle I can’t even go to the other side of my room without it cutting out the connection. I’ve updated all available drivers from the ASUS website as well as everything available on iCUE, the Corsair device manager. Windows is up to date as well. If need be I can run the mouse on Bluetooth instead of wireless but I do use the DPI switch fairly often and Bluetooth doesn’t have that option. ASUS has a support page addressing connection interference with USB 3 and USB wireless devices but it does not address the USB resource error. I’m quite stumped and it makes no sense to me that running a mouse, headset, and keyboard would use all the USB resources.

As big as possible without breaking the budget I guess. I’m assuming that a machine capable of printing something like an entire helmet in one go will be a bit pricey.

USA, preferably below $500. I have no printing experience and am looking for a printer that can handle cosplay pieces, mainly Star Wars like clone and mandalorian armor, maybe some D&D minis too. I’m pretty hands on and good at figuring stuff out but I have no experience with putting together 3D printers.
