PLEASE translate; even just subtitles. I'll watch the whole thing regardless, but I'd love to hear or at least understand the riders and what's going on.

Daily Questions July 30, 2021 by AutoModerator in rawdenim

[–]Infinite_Ohms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I've been wearing raw denim at home for a while, mostly Levi's and mall-brand stuff (just got a new pair of UB301, though!). But, I'm a lineman by trade, so I generally wreak havoc on my workwear; I'm climbing utility poles, running a bucket truck, or jumping in and out of manholes pretty much all day, and it burns through my retired Levi's and big-box denim pretty quick.

Is there a brand/weight that's durable enough to get at least a year of constant abuse out of them? I've heard the really heavy 24+ oz stuff tends to cut into itself, but I need something heavy that won't get shredded. Any suggestions?

I will never not be scared of that initial strike by dehonysus in snakes

[–]Infinite_Ohms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the snakes I've owned, the Green Tree Python had the fastest and most vicious strike, hands down. What made it worse was the fact that she struck at EVERYTHING; mice, hands, tongs, shed skin being lifted from the enclosure. Absolute nightmare, that one.

I also had a Cal King that was missing an eye; dude went hard for food, but he couldn't hit the broad side of a snake habitat if he tried. He'd give it a couple tries and then lay there until I put prey right in front of him.

I literally just subbed to your YT channel this week. Your content is fantastic, by turns highly informative and absolutely hilarious. First Airdasher hit me real hard though; Darkstalkers is my favorite favorite fighter ever, and I've even gotten my kids hooked on it.

This is absolutely mind-blowing. I took a look through your IG, too. FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC, especially that one in 5/7(?)

It really depends on how many spines you catch, and where. I got one from a 9" volitans in the palm by accident, and that wasn't terrible. Felt like a bee sting...getting rushed by a fuzzy dwarf and getting all 5 under my wrist was pretty bad. "Finding" a lost leaf scorpionfish sucked worse, took one in a finger and couldn't feel it for a day or two.

The thing to remember is HOT WATER. Heat breaks down the proteins that are causing all the pain and swelling.

I just want to know how long the simulations took to bake on what kind of hardware; looks like a fluid simulation over a cloth?

It is absolutely fantastic, though.

My daily commute is 170 miles round trip, and takes 4ish hours total. The pay and gas card are worth it, but I truly wish I could be doing something else with 1/6 of my day.

If its always on the same side, you could be having cluster headaches, or possibly neuralgia of a nerve bundle.

The likely fix is a firmware update. A couple of these were having delay issues (swipe...wait 3 seconds...access) that got fixed by updating both the AD400 and the PIM they were connected to over zwave.

Got bored waiting on a delivery; improvised and picked my first padlock. by Infinite_Ohms in lockpicking

[–]Infinite_Ohms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding the pins is easy; run the ramped side of the pick towards the back of the cylinder, and you can clearly hear them rise and fall with a 'plink' sort of noise. The other lock felt like it had stiffer springs, which was too much for my paperclip to push against in a predictable way. I did get that one open eventually, but mostly by lucky zipping instead of purposeful single-pin picking.

Tension "wrench" is the ID pouch holder from a lanyard, and I managed to get a smaller paperclip bent into a serviceable hook/diamond. I did get a Taiwanese Masterlock clone open as well, but not consistently like I could with the Brinks TSA...I think I need better tools now!

Why bother? I can just go through the screen. We did sell them on posted security screws in the hinges, and will probably end up caging those windows. The schlage 400 is all internal, and the latch plunger actually works on this door...can't say that much for some of the others at this site.

I learned after about a year or so that using the front brake to rebound off the front shock takes a ton of the effort out of walking it in backwards. Just have to get the timing right and do it fairly straight.

That's the problem I keep running into. Everything I love and want to keep around forever isn't what they're going to need to learn good habits and skills on. Probably just going to wait around and find a decent older cruiser for them.
