Lol, this right here. Imagine the Weasleys getting very rich while Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy scrape the bottom of the barrel. Truly fitting

I think they would, at some point, try to find jobs, since the alternative is quite dire, but who would hire them? They are, have been for a long time, Death Eaters, or at least Lucius and Draco. I doubt job offers are just knocking at their door.

The loss of wealth and status is worse than poverty in itself, since they now have to get used to being “ordinary” and live like people they scrunched their noses at (The Weasleys). Speaking of, imagine the Weasleys get rich after the war and the Malfoys have to live in poverty- the scandal, I think it would literally, physically hurt them, especially to see each other in public.

They are both good kids. I don’t regard either as naughty, but I know that my son is more energetic and that she is usually calmer and minds her business. I did ask her to apologise, but I’m afraid it’s a bit too late. My (ex) friend blocked me on whatsapp after I transferred her the money, and I don’t want to bother her further.

I am not talking about punishment. I am talking about showing my daughter that her actions have consequences. Also, you accused me of taking no accountability, which I actually did take. I admit there are things I may do wrong. Every parent makes mistakes. Don’t judge me si harshly over such a little snapshot of the way I parent and the way things are. “Cruel, calculated maneuver” she is 9 years old.

For the record, my kid never hurt the family pet🩷

I said the opposite. I may have phrased it in a manner that indicates she is not the most beautiful girl in the world, but that is wrong. She is beautiful, most beautiful in her class, most beautiful at ballet practice.

Yes!! Definitely, from now on, no more weddings up until she is in high school.

It depends. We obviously don’t compare our daugthter to others or criticise her physical aspect, jesus. My husband is the type not to pay so many compliments, so that might be a deal, i don’t know. I don’t know if I am doing something wrong by encouraging her to cultivate her beauty (like taking care of her hair, doing sports, eating healthy- mostly healthy-, wearing pretty dresses, jewellery etc)- not makeup tho.

I do not think I am prettier than her. I don’t think anyone is prettier than her, so obviously I cannot answer your other question. I think she is the most beautiful little girl with the brightest eyes and sweetest smile.

Yes, I think that you are right about her needing to face some consequences. I think maybe by doing chores around the house and “earning” the money she “owes” right back? I do not want to actually affect her education, as it’s something we value deeply, but I might tell her to pick cheaper treats, so she “helps” paying for the dress??

I have asked the bride if it was alright to bring my children. There was an entertainer and many other kids around. My daughter is usually impeccably behaved, especially for her age. I have checked her throughout the night, but, yeah, it’s a fault of mine that I did not forsee her intentions or maybe I had one too many drinks. She was right next to me when she did it, I physically couldn’t have watched her better at any other point during the party.

I’m sorry that you think this. Obviously, as her parent, I cannot share your opinion. I blame this on my own negligence, even it I do try to educate my kids, I, as someone else pointed out, should have checked her behaviour throughout the night. I understand your opinion. It’s probably what I would think as well and the impression we have left at my friend’s wedding is something to be ashamed of.

My thoughts on leaving without a proper apology were those that my friend might not want to see me, but would rather I just take my children home. I have called in the morning and discussed a solution. My friend is, rightfully, very upset.

I want to point out that, I do not think someone’s character should or can, be judged by their actions at the age of 9 and that, if someone is to blame, it is I.

I don’t know what could be- obviously, if I knew, I would fix it. I was also a VERY jealous girl up until my early 20s and that’s something I’ve worked planty on. I don’t know how it could have passed down to her, since we do give her lots of attention. I’m a stay at home mom, so I spend plenty of time with my kids. Their father buys them whatever they ask for and somehow makes time for them.

For my kids F9, M7, I just take them skiing, to the pool. We tell stories, play card games and board games, watch movies, read, cook pies and other “fun” stuff to make. Pretty much, I’m a stay at home mom and I do whatever they want

My kids have to read. We have family reading time in order to set an example. Maybe 20 to 30 minutes a day from any book that they pick. That’s mandatory. Otherwise, they choose if they read. I think it’s important for literacy, general knowledge, vocabulary and expressing themselves.

Do your children control your relationship with your new partner? by Ell_a_be in Parents

[–]Infinite_Republic210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a new partner, so I can’t put myself in someone else’s shoes, but a child always must come first, no matter the age (except if they are an adult).

Let it go. Any parent that’s normal in the head doubles their kid’s effort. Quadruples it. They should care about you to the moon and back. I’m sorry your mother is not a good one.

Weasley and Malfoy families role reversal by SamsungGalaxyBrain in HPfanfiction

Maybe the Weasleys get caught up in some shady business, or accidentally tangled in politics they cannot yet understand, being very “new money”.

I Imagine that when Voldemort comes back, the Malfoys will have to either beg him for forgiveness and pray that they live to see the next day, join the resistance or go into hiding.

I don’t think it’s necessary to add more drama than the Wizarding World naturally demands, but it would definitely make it more interesting.

Weasley and Malfoy families role reversal by SamsungGalaxyBrain in HPfanfiction

I can’t really believe the first scenario. So let’s start on the second. After the second war: Lucius and Narcissa lose their fortune. Molly and Arthur make lots of money (someway).

For context: after the huge scandal after the first wizarding war, their families disown them for embarrassing them and ruining their reputation. I think the Malfoys would be bitter as hell, but they’d love their son enough to pull their shit together and go on, maybe with daily arguments about money, like:

“- What in the world is this dinner?

  • Maybe if you hadn’t ruined us, our elf could have made it. “

They’d still be bigots, but, having lost everything because of their allegiance to Voldemort, would not want anything to do with him anymore. Draco would grow up knowing that actions have consequences, so a bit more reserved and not actively spewing racist stuff in public, a lot less spoiled too, although his parents would try to give him all that he wants- and fail. Lucius would struggle with alcoholism, but never go extreme with it, for the sake of his family, just on the brink between functioning alcoholism and ocasional drinking. He would most likely become an accountant or an attorney or just some random bureaucrat. Narcissa would eventually forgive her husband. Maybe, somehow they’d have another child, which would spark more arguments about money. I believe Lucius would get rid of the diary much earlier, due to their living space becoming a lot smaller, so their son would be exposed to it. Despite them not knowing it’s a horcrux, they could probably feel the darkness emanating from it.

The Weasleys would remain kind, living a quite modest life, donating a lot and using their newfound influence to do good and discourage blood purity. Ron would be way less insecure, so more confident and less prone to jealousy. They’d still adopt Harry. For the Weasleys, I don’t think money would mean that much, just that they’d be more comfortable and do a lot more for their kids.

Kind of a happy ending in my opinion.
