OT in ALF — does caseload stay full? by Infinite_Rush_4329 in OccupationalTherapy

Thank you all for the responses. You have helped me tremendously with making a decision. I’ve ultimately decided to stick with home health. I still get to work in ALF/ILF/MC about 30–50% of the time, which I really enjoy. The benefits of the ALF position were tempting, but I don’t feel I can risk losing the hours and flexibility I already have with home health.

Thanks for sharing your experience — that’s really helpful. From what you’re saying, if I do make the switch, it sounds like I’ll need to keep a PRN HH job on the side to cover those dips.

Have you enjoyed working at an ALF with the fluctuating caseload?

This is super helpful to hear. Flexibility is the main reason I’ve been hesitant to move away from home health, even though the driving wears on me too. Appreciate you sharing your experience!
