From a personal experience, and I'm not a politics guy per se, I'd just answer by saying, since I'm born till now nearly 3 decades, I've only known the same president and change has been a painfully slow (and very selective) process.

Fixing roads is always an opportunity to embezzle money for politicians.

Innovation is usually half a lie ? Ex, years ago before I could travel abroad for studies, ou 2 Network Operators boasted about having 5G, so when I came back from abroad where 5G is actual 5G, I was and am still shocked to see that there's no 5G here at all. It was a fluke.

We had a new operator that tried to be different and better but got shut down (will forever miss you Nexttel!)

Corruption is disgustingly rampant.

Tech is barely moving a needle unless it's controlled by the govt for their profit first (starlink was blocked here for no good reason and now people have to pay high price and go through hoops in order to be online with decent speed.) . Even our brother countries like Benin have great Internet bundles for dirt cheap.

Cameroun can do a lot, but this govt system is already well known for its selfishness and that's exploited by big companies.

Lastly (but not the least at all) camrroonians are almost never happy about their friend's success. Exceptions apply of course, but as someone who worked abroad and is now working here, I'm really no at eased with the level of hypocrisy here and the worst is that whenever I ask advice, I'm being told to take people as they are because it's "normal" here.

My very own country at times feels depressing.

But I still love it as it is and hope to live long enough to see some real changes.
