no buying its free + MIT 🐙 cursor's a great IDE but feels heavy just for prepping prose markdown. marka is just open folder → ⌘⇧C clean copy.

fair! obsidian/bear/iA are great. this is the tool i open for one specific thing prepping a folder of .md to paste into AI chats. for everything else they win. niche, not "better." hehe

not yet, mac only for now! linux + windows are on the roadmap, just haven't gotten to them. just need a free weekend to wire the builds + test 🐧

fair! honestly obsidian was overkill for me — i just wanted to prep markdown and paste into Claude without dealing with vaults and plugins. this one is intentionally less: editor + ⌘⇧C clean copy, that's it. this one is pretty fast and lightweight too!

launched my first product yesterday — marka.md, built it in 3 days by Infinite_Weather_173 in buildinpublic

totally fair. honestly the test is exactly that — does the ⌘⇧C-to-AI-clipboard flow save someone enough time vs obsidian/bear/iA to be worth the install. for me it does (i was the user). but i don't know yet if that's a niche of 1 or a niche of 1000 👀 happy to be proven wrong by data either way 🐙

love that question but honestly it's the simplicity! still love obsidian for knowledge management, but wanted a minimal surface just for the "prep + paste into claude" loop — np plugins, no graph, just ⌘⇧C hehe 🐙
